5. With his audience he can get anyone he wants
and they have to survive the interview.

6. He's proven to be a skilled interviewer.
Even if I'm a bit biased, I'm still awed by his ability to handle even a hostile guest with humor and focus.

10. He reminds me of a good sheep dog.
Edited on Mon Jun-12-06 05:35 PM by TahitiNut
He enjoys what he's doing and he asks questions with just exactly enough implication that, before they know it, the quick-footed guest is corralled and the gate clicks shut. He's very quick and very focused and knows exactly where they'll run.

When he's done, nobody has pity for the sheep.

14. Interesting analogy
And very apt, I'd say. I think recently I was struck by how much fun he has, but how polite he can be while discussing a subject. There's an appropriateness to his humor which softens the blow, so to speak. I don't recall the guests' name, but he was a conservative guest who based his book on on a religious theme. Stewart had to remind the audience that the author considered himself a conservative and didn't tend to agree with him, but their conversation was intelligent and thought-provoking in a good way.

PS: There's a few I'd like to see "shorn" by Stewart, and a few more that should be made into mutton, if you ask me.

19. He turned Bill Bennet into mutton chops last week.
I was actually aplauding during that interview.

I very much hope that he will rake Tom Friedman over the coals.

7. When Stewart announced that Ray Santorum would be a future TDS guest
Edited on Mon Jun-12-06 05:32 PM by rocknation
the audience groaned--not booed, GROANED!

And I haven't heard from Melhman since Colbert's speech--I guess the shock has finally worn off!

18. No need to apologize. I never heard of him either
I have this Late Night page bookmarked

The handy thing about it is each guest is linked to Amazon and their latest book, or some other explanation as to who they are.
