What would happen if...
What would be the impact--nationally and individually--if all student loans were summarily declared paid-in-full?

Alternatively, what if every student loan debtor were given, say, $25,000 loan amnesty?

I'm not supposing that this would happen, but it seems like the money to fund such a venture must be lying around, if Haliburton can lose track of billions and the Pentagon can lose trillions...

1. All student loans could be forgiven tomorrow
and I think it would be good for the economy in the long run.

1. Banks would lose some profit, but not a significant amount.

2. A lot of college graduates who had the audacity to be poor (like me) would finally be able to start buying homes or saving for retirement.
