2. One guy now saying his pastor told him having sex is a sin
and he shouldn't do it. So that is why he has just gone to a house with to meet a 13 year old girl to have sex with.

These dingbats need to realize that their "save yourself until you're married" does not work especially if kids are getting married later and later now. The one kid was a student at an Evangelical college.

3. Control freaks
I always assume that the whole control freak thing that drives most hyper-religious types (Christianist OR Islamist or whatever else) is the same sort of control fetish that leads grown men to prefer young children to adult women.

It's also why they try to desperately to keep women from becoming adults--treating them like helpless, foolish children who can't be trusted to make a decision, to earn decent money, etc. If you can keep women dependent on you, you can control them just like you can control a pre-pubescent girl (or boy, for that matter).

7. Too much judgemental, hypercritical, no reason allowed type of control
tends to lead to sexual perversions in men and eating disorders in women.

15. You probably have something there. These men are not pedophiles
Edited on Sun Jun-11-06 09:30 PM by Maraya1969
because the kids are post-pubescent so the guys are not into little kids. They do seem to be into a young person that they obviously can control. The younger guys from strict religious groups seem to be thwarted from being a normal kid with their peers, (the collage age guys). Staying a virgin until after you graduate college is not healthy IMO and can drive a person to do stupid things.

There is a sub plot of "Big Love" the series from HBO where the boy who is around 16 wants to go to Mormon Seminary because he thinks of sex all the time and has had wet dreams. His girl friend tells him they are going to "make you feel bad about yourself. Make you feel like sex is dirty" (paraphrased) He says to her "I think about sex all the time" as if he feels like that is a really bad thing.

18. conservative woman friend said 'that's why men want their wives to be
virgins, so that the women have nothing to which to compare his sexual technique.'

I was stunned when she said this. (She'd been married 3 times.)

He would have satisfied his "sinful" urges, then punished her for corrupting him with her sinful nature. :scared:

until I saw a segment on America's Most Wanted. In one day, they nabbed TWENTY guys!

8. They literally had to schedule them a half hour apart
for a ten hour shift. It really is scary how many people are willing to go have sex with kids.

9. I must be in a time warp!
The Dateline show I watched tonight was about the soldiers in Afghanistan!
Where do you live? That show you referred to was on last week here!

Apache pilots from Operation Anaconda, interviewed at Ft. Rucker, Ala.
(L-R) Major Bill Ryan, Warrant Officer Emanuel Pierre, Warrant Officer Rich Chenault,
Warrant Officer Sam Bennett.

Operation Anaconda
In a special "Dateline" presentation, "Rescue on Roberts Ridge,"
NBC's Stone Phillips reports on the men, the mission and the mistakes of Operation Anaconda.
The broadcast recounts the dramatic story of a daring rescue mission in the mountains
of Afghanistan and soldiers share their personal stories for the first time,
accompanied by never-before-seen images of the battle captured by U.S. spy planes.
• SUNDAY, 7 P.M.

Rallying his troops (video)
Brigadier General Frank Weircinski gave his troops an inspiring speech on the eve of battle.

I wanted to :puke: at the speech this guy gave! I think he thinks he's Gen. Patton!

12. I'm on the east coast. Florida. So it may come on in a few hours
for the ones on the west coast. I had not seen this one before. I'm kind of glad I didn't see the inspiring speech about war. There is really nothing inspiring about it.

13. No this one was about young girls. They will show up on boy's day
Maybe "Perverted Justice" should make up a the screen name, "SpongyFunBob" and see if Falwell tries to have cyber sex with it.

16. Religion aside.. It's because they're sexualizing young girls in the media
People are so shocked that these guys are all going after young teens, but as the parent of a young teen.. and seeing the media featuring young teen girls.. and the way they're protrayed, it's no shock these men want to have sex with them. It's a sick thing that Madison Avenue did to young girls... they decided to sexualize them so that they could sell them more stuff.. .more makeup, more clothes, more beauty products, more everything. Folks.. some stores are actually selling thong underwear to elementary school aged girls. If you look at Victoria's Secret, the models they use more and more now, all look as though they're around 15.. but with breast implants. 15 is the new 21 sexually in the media.

These men are pigs.. no arguing that. But I'm speaking about their proclivity to seek out young girls. The other issue is control..

Our society is sick... and the media, the advertisers, and the corporations, are all keeping it sick.. for profit. Little girls can't be little girls anymore... Madison Avenue set their sights on the "tweeners", and now girls around 11 are being sexualized in advertising. Ask any porn store clerk what the most popular titles for anything are.. and it involves girls that are "barely legal". Look at the subject lines for the porn that is delivered to your email... same thing.

The society is sick, and these predators are a symptom. Until women start speaking up about the abuse of childhood, by profiteers, then it will never change. Instead, most women get so caught up in it.. becoming an accomplice in turning their daughters into sexual objects. Kids at my daughter's school had pierced tongues and bellies in jr. high, in high school? Breast implants, tattoos, 200 dollar haircuts.. and the parents are funding this. It's really sad.

19. Excellent post, progressive
Remember the Jon Benet Ramsey case? That's the one that alerted me to this subculture of women who "sex up" their daughters.

21. That's very true
Look at how pre-pubescent girls were dressed in times past, hell, as recently as my own childhood. There were definite children's clothes for both boys and girls, and one wore children's clothes until one was definitely post pubescent. The girls in my sixth grade class picture (early 1960s) are all wearing dresses or skirts and blouses with anklets or tights and flat shoes. No pants or shorts in those days, and certainly no midriff tops, make-up, earrings, or shirts with suggestive slogans on them. No T-shirts at all, actually.

When I look at kids today, all ages seem to dress the same, and the sight of elementary and middle school girls dressed like something out of a music video is disconcerting. I'm all for women expressing their sexuality, but I definitely mean women, not little girls who are neither physically nor emotionally ready for sexual activity.

22. From a feminist perspective , , ,
I would say it's all connected.

If we can keep girls worried more about their sexual attractiveness and make them believe that this is the sole measure of their worth, we can keep them from becoming strong and accomplishing their own goals, rather than just cheering on the guys.

I think it's kind of a double gift for the hyper-religious, because they get the benefit of the loss of power young women suffer, and they get to tell these girls they're being sinful and blame them for all their sexual feelings that they've been taught are evil and unmanly.
