O.K., our pitiful sense of triumph is over, back to the disasterous war.
The highly public death of Zarqawi held the news cycle for about 3 days tops, the high fives are over, the hoorahs, the victory speeches, two days later it hardly seems like news at all.

Pretty damned pitiful if this is the best we can do, take out one rotten guy who never attacked us, crow about it as if it meant victory, and then, it's gone, back to the G.I. death count, which approaches 2,500.

Crowing about Zarqawi while the 5th anniversary of the still free Osama's attack looms is pitiful.

FIVE YEARS Osama has been on the run. Osama apparently is the one who attacked us, not Zarwawi, so turn off the canned applause machine.

1. I could not have said it better myself.
The whole thing is ridiculous. Bush could have killed Zarqawi a year before we went to war in Iraq. We knew where he was the whole time and we knew what he was capable of doing once the war started. Bush just let him go so he would have a scapegoat for the violence that would inevitably occur once we went in. Iraq has not fallen into a civil war....it was all Zarqawi. But, what will they say now when the violence still occurs? This event was just to get his poll numbers up and to attempt to buy more support for this stupid war from Americans.
