Internet neutrality
Is the debate now going on in Congress ,now on CSpan about the Internet issue everyuone's concerned about or is this strictly about Cable serices and video options..If this rule includes the 'net neutrality issue than we're in trouble cause it appears the Rpeubs along with a few Democrats are going to get this thru.

1. COPE Act (H.R. 5252)
According to the note I got this morning from freepress.net it's about net neutrality. I'll quote a small part of it below. You can probably get more info and phone numbers to call for your rep at http://www.savetheinternet.com/

1. Call your representative:

Ask Representative John Carter to support legislation that would protect Net Neutrality -- the principle that keeps the Internet free and open.

Rep. John Carter
(202) 225-3864

Urge Representative Carter to support the Markey-Boucher-Eshoo-Inslee Net Neutrality amendment to the larger communications bill called the COPE Act (H.R. 5252).

The COPE Act is riddled with problems, the biggest of which is the lack of genuine Net Neutrality protections. Tell Representative Carter to oppose any telecommunications law that doesn't contain meaningful and enforceable Net Neutrality.

2. Help fight telco misinformation:

More than a million Americans have already voiced their support for Internet freedom. But companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast are spending tens of millions of dollars to drown out the public outcry. Their propaganda blitz includes local TV and print ads and canned telephone appeals designed to paint Net Neutrality as an anti-consumer regulation -- even though every major consumer group says it is the best way to protect consumer choice.

Please help set the record straight by supporting SavetheInternet.com

2. It wouldn't do much good for me to write my Congressman since he is a
Bush bootlicker but I did email Senator Bayh and I (like everyone else) am hoping for the best. I heard one Democrat(from Illinois) talking in favor of the bill. Any Democrat that approves this bill is obviously been swayed by the big telecommunications corps..Its' just terrible how big money rules..Republican,Democrat,Independent..money talks.
