Rahm Emanual Throws Coulter in the Faces of Pubs on the Floor of the House
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 09:30 AM by me b zola
Speaking on the floor of the House, Rep Emanual asks repubs, "Does Coulter speak for you when she she suggests poisening SC Justices or slandering 911 widows?"

Emanual continued, "...if not, speak now. Your silence allows her to be your spokesman."

edited to include a little more info :)

1. Messy
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 09:16 AM by Squeech
They should be grateful he didn't throw Santorum.

On edit: what would Coulter be if it were a non-proper noun? I'm thinking the barbed wire tangle left over from eroded fencing in abandoned cattle ranches, but that's just me.

2. Woo-hoo!
Make them own the POS. Letterman went after her last night. One punchline, "Al Gore is working on a new movie about her. Called "An Inconvenient Bitch."

19. Letterman's best shot was...

"We do know Ann Coulter is an attractive blonde, maybe we should hook her up with O.J."

8. Don't fall into the trap
I saw her being confronted, etc. on one of the newcasts last night or the night before. The problem is that it gives the witch publicity and she lapped it up and played to it while wingnuts in the background (at a book signing) applauded. We may think that confrontations are finally a big slap at her but in reality it just helps sell her books AND you can bet the GOP is pleased right down to their dirty socks that she's getting the attention. This is just the kind of slimebag (like Limbaugh, etc.) that they want to see getting publicity so that they can rally up that good old, tent revival hatred that the mongrels that ARE the base suck up and love.

15. Except Emanuel isn't confronting Coulter
He's confronting the folks who leech off her leechery; Coulter's not in the House, but a lot of people who profit politically because of her are there. And it's a good question to pose: Do the Republicans agree or disagree with this odious woman? Is she a spokesperson by proxy for the GOP? The GOP's silence looks like acquiescence to her views to me. Will they denounce her loony rantings, or are they planks of the GOP platform?

18. Bullshit, there is only so much of the backwash who's going to buy
her book in the first place. If she sells another dozen books because of the publicity, I'd be surprised - but gladly pull the money out of my own pocket and buy them myself as long as she's getting this much attention to the REPUBLICAN party as the haters in America that they are. She's been one of their public faces for so long - they own her, and we need to keep reminding everyone of that. Then she can get convicted of illegally voting in Florida and become another brick in the Wall Of Republican Convicts!

11. She should be dragged off in handcuffs
for suggesting poisoning Supreme Court justices. For the 9-11 widow statements, perhaps a public flogging would be appropriate.

28. here's why this effort, laudable/smart as it is, will go for nought
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 12:09 PM by Gabi Hayes
http://www.consortiumnews.com/2006/060706.html

At dinner a few weeks ago, a well-placed Republican political operative was oozing confidence about GOP prospects in the November elections, not because the voters were enamored of George W. Bush but because the Democrats and liberals had done so little to improve their ability to reach the public with their message.

By contrast, he described to me a highly sophisticated Republican system for pouncing on Democratic “bad votes” and verbal gaffes and distributing the information instantaneously to a network of pro-Republican media outlets that now operates down to the state, district and local levels.

This huge conservative media advantage has now contributed to dooming Democratic hopes for snaring the vulnerable suburban San Diego seat of imprisoned Republican congressman Randy “Duke” Cunningham.

In the June 6 special election, Republicans reported a last-minute surge of support after conservative media outlets trumpeted a verbal blunder by Democrat Francine Busby, propelling Republican lobbyist Brian Bilbray to victory by about four percentage points.
