That was the first thing my wife thought of. They are trying to save his poll rating.

2. I'm not sure he'll get a big bounce out of this.
The American people have grown weary of the Iraq debacle and no matter how much Zarqawi's death is hyped, it probably won't make much of a difference. Maybe if this had happened early in the occupation, but it's three years later and quite frankly, we've turned the corner so many damn times....

7. Everyone of those Republicans, what is it now 39%
will be giving out all those "I told ya so" for weeks and probably months.I dont believe this story..but I believe it was well planted. I want to see a live shot of the body of a one legged man being pulled oout of the wreckage and then I would have my doubts. Good job Rove your desperate attempt of raising Dubya's poll numbers might just work...

3. There may be a small bounce for the Chimp.
But a month from now, when it's obvious that nothing whatever has changed, the disappointment will drive him back down even lower.

That's what I'm seeing, anyway.

4. Somebody tried to poll me last night!
I wasn't there, but on my messages was, did I approve/disapprove of the job Bush was doing.

Sorry I missed that call--but I don't put much stock in polls anyway.
The way a question is worded can skew the results in the direction the poll takers want them to go.

6. Nah, the Chimp has jumped the shark....
nobody "personally" likes him anymore. Remember the guy that everybody wanted to have a beer with? Well, now he's the obnoxious stinkin' drunk that everybody slides away from.

9. Might jump temporarily
Then it will be back in the toilet because * and his band of dummies can't do anything right. More outrageous mistakes to follow.

10. I Just Got Back From D. C. And Everyone I Talked To From....
aides to Senators & Congressmen (Democrat & Republican alike) to taxicab drivers hate this administration and can't wait until they're gone.

The MSM will push this for a week or so. They'll ask the poll questions in a way that it will give * a bounce. We'll hear from the MSM that *'s poll numbers are going up. Looks like he bottomed out and is back.

But bottom line - no one likes this guy, his administration and what it stands for and come November we'll see a big change in this country.

11. I would think a small bounce as well
and if the violence lessens (unlikely) maybe a more substantial one.

If he got OBL I think the numbers would climb up more seriously.

13. I Think You're Being Too Generous
The Iraq war and the economy are running neck and neck in the minds of voters. The terrorism thing was at only 4% in that recent poll, as most important. Killing an al qaeda guy, at this point will provide a bump within the margin of error.

That's my prediction. Less than 3%.

18. Exactly. I could ask my Bushbot friends here in the office
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 08:48 AM by Ishoutandscream2
And maybe one of them would know about the Zarquawi (sp?) death. It's all about the economy to them. Paying three bucks a gallon for gas far outweighs anything such as this.

If Bush does get a bounce, it will be a very small one. The state of the economy rules with the majority, not gay marriage and dead terrorists (unless it was Bin Laden).

15. unfortunately.......a lot
This is all you'll see on the "liberal media" for as long as they can get away with it. Forget about NSA or Haditha or Rove indictments. That stuff has just been washed under the brige and forgotten.
not by me of course.

of fighting starts to abate in Iraq, it won't last long.

17. I don't see why he should get *any* bounce

This was a victory by our military. It's not like mcleakypants engaged Al in hand-to-hand combat.

And this will also serve to remind people that Bin Laden is still very much alive.
