If David Duke is nominated to the Supreme Court?
Will the Democrats be permitted to ask questions about his past? Will they accuse him of belonging to a racist organization? Will the Republicans point how how cool and collected and reserved he was under the intense questioning of the Democrats? Will they say that what happened so long ago really is not relevant to his nomination? Will his wife sit behind and cry when someone accuses him of being a racist? Will the right-wingers defend him as an honest and competent person? I suspect they would.

1. If it gets to the point that they feel safe nominating him, its all over.
Might as well get out the red carpet, ermine, and petal strewer.

3. There are similarities...
with the CAP racism.

4. That's a bit of a stretch
Duke is a avowed racist. Scalito is only tenuously associated with an racist organization.

He may be a liar about what he remembers about the CAP, but let's disqualify the man based on his jurist philosophy, not on unproven claims of racism.

5. It was meant to be...
But it was also intended to give another perspective on the quiet calm of Judge Alito. That alone doesn not qualify the man.
