Are Bush & Coulter & others guilty of the crime of hate speech?
Edited on Tue Jun-06-06 08:34 PM by Philosoraptor
Or is hate speech no longer a crime either? Or has it too been "defined" by the new world order?

The assault, robbery, crucifixion, and death on 1998-OCT-12 of Matthew Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student, breathed new life in to the call for an upgrade to the Federal hate crime law. 1,3,4 The current law does not protect three groups that are particularly vulnerable to physical attack: women, the disabled, and homosexuals. President Clinton commented at the time: "All Americans deserve protection from hate." As of 2001-NOV, the current federal law has not been augmented to include these groups.

1. Hate speech isn't a crime nor should it be.

4. If Joe Schmuck insulted 9-11 widows like Annie did, he'd be at least sued.

5. Hate speech is a crime as it should be since it has led, repeatedly, to,..
,...genocide.

Hatred has no place in free speech. In a civilized society, we have the capacity to speak freely on ideas, principles, policies, philosophies, etc. without the hatred that motivated Germans and Africans and Americans to commit acts of genocide.

I believe there should be better enforcement of the laws on "hate speech" and further restrictions on ALL belligerent hatred. Humanity would be better off with such laws particularly since a common human weakness has proven to be the virus/illness/sickness associated with the feelings and spread of hatred.

Hatred is not free speech. It's a destructive emotion that kills.

6. I believe there are many guilty of "hate speech". Sadly, it spreads,...
,...so easily in a society that is possessed with struggle and confusion and oppression. It has spread quickly, here. Telling sign of what is "real" and what is "myth" in/about this country.
