Limbaugh Trolls: Does this describe you? Just curious.

1) You’re 14 years old and in the 7th grade, for the second time.

2) The school administration considers you a trouble-maker, which you think is funny – though not as funny as it seemed last year.

3) Your dad listens to Rush Limbaugh every day. You never really understood or cared for politics but you liked the way Limbaugh makes fun of people so you started to listen.

4) You realized that you could irritate people who think they’re so smart by memorizing Limbaugh quotes and talking-points. It was easy and made you feel smart and powerful.

5) You now post in online discussions where you can irritate even more people.

6) You visit conservative websites where you can validate and reinforce your talking points and no one will criticize you for inaccuracies, inconsistencies, contradictions, distortions, double standards, faulty logic, or changing the subject when any of the previously mentioned faults become too obvious.

7) In those rare and uncomfortable moments of encroaching self-awareness you start to feel lousy and immediately blame Clinton, which makes you feel better and that gets you back to your normal state.

8) In times of greatest cognitive dissonance the only remedy is to listen to your Limbaugh audio archives. It doesn’t seem fair that the other side can turn to so many egghead sources of information while you’re unfairly handicapped by having to rely on so few sources.

9) While listening to Rush Limbaugh you have, on at least one occasion, caught yourself sucking your thumb. You found this disturbing and reflexively blamed Clinton, which made you feel better.

10) Actually, you’re not really 14 years old or in the 7th grade at all. You’re more likely middle-aged and feel things slipping away and don’t know how to cope with a whole lot of issues that you think you’re unfairly burdened with and don't know who to blame and that makes you an easy target, easy prey, easily manipulated – You’re an easy sell. Say hello to Rush Limbaugh again, he has something for you. So you buy the snake oil and guzzle it down.

I do sense an inferiority complex in Trolls. Because when they post stuff they really don't understand they are extremely defensive and very combative right from the get go. It's like a scared child putting on the "tough guy" front to ward off real debate.

When I was in highschool and Rush had his television show, I would catch it sometimes at lunch (we could go off campus, sometimes I would go home). Anyway, being politically oblivious as I was I thought Limbaugh was making fun of all politicians, I thought that was his schtick. It wasn't until a few years later that I realized he was a complete partisan hack. I don't really know why I was so ignorant.

So my point is, it can happen, it happend to me.
