NOTICE: I HATE extremely graphic

Violence, that is. For some reason people get a kick out of putting up those kinds of pictures. And according to the rules, it's perfectly acceptable. But show a picture of people making love and watch how quickly your thread get locked, or deleted, or worse, you find yourself tombstoned. Why is that? Why is depictions of graphic violence completely acceptable on DU, but dare show even a naked female breast and the thread is shut down? All I can figure is that's the kind of fucked-up puritan-heritage culture we live in. Anyway, do me a favor, please. If you're going to give a warning about the pictures in your post, at least give some hint so people can judge whether they can tolerate viewing them or not. For example, starvation, disease ravaged, land mine blown leg, shot in face, mangled body parts, etc. We all have on own tolerances of what we can handle.

You CAN turn off the ads. It's a simple process.

If having the ads at DU help help the guys around here with the cost of running DU, I think we should give them the benefit of the doubt.

Besides, some people have had some fun with the ads. It makes for some humor in a world where humor is in short supply.
