Debunking the Swift Boat Liars--A Blogging Marathon

The Democratic Daily is now in its second day of posting articles debunking the Swift Boat Liars.

For Day 2 I have posted some of the more interesting articles of 2004 which debunked the Swifties as their lies came out. There's still more to come.

2. Now that is a lot of work because there were so many lies -all never

challenged by the media -

indeed all of which all known military documents.

With Bush the obvious AWOL history was never pushed by the media - an obvious NBC correspondent Claire Shipman problem (she made the mistake of offering a positive opinion of Al Gore on the air which got her destroyed by GE's Jack Welsh as he micro managed NBC for the election).

But our media still pretends they are fair.

3. Mixed on media

The media deserves criticism for stressing the horse race aspect of the lies (how will they affect the race?) rahter than debunking them and moving on to the issues. They certainly dropped the ball on Bush, pretending that as sooon as the memos were questionable there was no longer a story. Imagine if the dropped the Swift Boat strory the first time any doubt was cast on their "evidence."

With all the media did wrong, there were quite a few good articles in which the media showed the flaws in the arguments.

On top of defending Kerry from the Swift Boat lies I included some other material on Kerry in Vietnam. The guy even saved a puppy's life, dammit. How can anybody knock a guy who saved a puppy!!

4. They should not let up until the election is over this fall. I'm sure the

GOP will give into their baser instincts and swiftboat somemore.. though all their candidates will be innocent.. and really they are just better at politics really..that is all it is..it really doesn't matter if one branch of the GOP consistantly lies and makes shit up...really it doesnt:sarcasm:

6. One of those guys was on coast to coast last night.

I work the overnight shift and I was outraged that noory would give this ahole a pass.
