1. It doesn't matter if
you are a liberal, when these guys take over the fools that supported them won't be getting a pass, I guarantee it!

6. I agree with this...and also...
...I actually think that these fascist pigs have MORE contempt for the naive freaks who voted for them.

Can you imagine...being a neocon and caring only about military domination and crushing anyone who gets in the way of your corporate cronies making billions? To know that Jesus freaks were voting for you, pretty much must make them chuckle beyond repair. Cheney and Rumsfeld must sit around making fun of James Dobson and his ilk. These PNAC scum care nothing about religion, spirituality, or any other tenants of ANY religion. They are soulless, conscious lacking thugs.

At least we are an informed opposition who can see them for who/what they are. They must have at least a smidgen of respect for us. At least we can see clearly. They may disagree with us and want to crush us like bugs. However, at least we aren't out wailing in the streets with our Jesus trailer hitches, declaring that pResident Bush is our savior.

I wish these religious people would realize that they have become Stormtroopers for Darth Vader and the rest of the dark-force thugs.

13. I keep telling this to my dumshit relatives
We're all gun owners and sportsmen and women. But I'm the only one who hasn't drunk the kool-aid. They think their guns are safe under a pub administration and I keep telling them the pubs would be more inlcined to exert control over possession of firearms by citizens. Furthermore how easy would it be for the NSA or some other agency to get ahold of the NRA's membership rolls as a first step to location and eventual confiscation of all civilian owned guns in the US. Betcha the NRA would just cave and turn over the records.

20. Exactly My Point
Edited on Sat Jan-14-06 01:36 PM by stepnw1f
I am neither pro nor anti-guns, but would like to see less people pushing them into society. Just taking the other side's perspective and flipping it on it's head.

14. I agree. Many of the republican gun-owners who voted for * are in
for a wake up call, when they have their weapons seized, by the very people they voted for.

2. I don't but...
I find it interesting that Thomas Jefferson said this: "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

7. I have several guns
I vote for Democrats, never republican, and support all sort of progressive causes.

I also own several guns, as do most of my family and friends. They all despise right wingers as well.

My mom, who is an accountant, bought an M-1 a couple of years ago. *L*

8. Yes I have a gun. Its my old service weapon (glock)
from when I was a cop. I also have over 800 rounds. I was going to sell it, but when Bush stole 2004 election my spouse said to keep it just in case. :)

10. Being from Connecticut originally....
Everyone I grew up with and knew was a Liberal who owned a gun.....this had a lot to do with all of the gun companies being located up there (Colt, Marlin, Ruger, Carter Arms....etc....). Most of us we strong Dem Union members as well....when I moved to North Florida I was shocked at the lack of shooting ranges here....we had several to chose from in CT......things aren't always as they seem.......

11. I was actually thinking about this a while back
Basically, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to apply selective gun control. Basically, if you're brown skinned, a liberal, or anyone that has questioned the government, I'm sure they don't want guns in your hands...

12. I don't believe gun control should be a partisan issue.
Edited on Sat Jan-14-06 12:34 AM by JohnnyRingo
I think the Republicans started the myth that Democrats are going to take away our guns.
I tell my NRA friends that when the government comes for our arms it will be with the support of both parties. Buxh couldn't even ammend the constitution to ban gay marriage, how can the Dem party muster bi-partisan support to take away a fundamental right as important as the 2nd?

The Republican party is the one with most to gain from disarming us.

15. The racist wingnuts would rather our guns be taken away.
Okay, let me elaborate a bit more.

I'm an American Indian and my nation took up armed struggle in defense of our homeland.

To this day, we still honor and maintain that tradition.

Our experience tells us that the wingnuts of this nation are the ideological ancestors of those that waged war against us and they have continued the fight.

I think every person who stands in opposition to the wingnuts should take every measure to insure that they are never at a disadvantage, whether that be ideological, physical etc.

As far as the NRA goes, some of my friends have been discussing the idea of forming a group and seeking and endorsement from the NRA to "protect themselves" and then staging an armed blockade in defense of their indigenous rights.

I'd like to see the wingnuts twist and turn to describe how the right to bear arms only applies to them, if this happens.
