What's your take on Larry King and the Dixie Chicks?

I was in awe of them ~ all three of the Dixie Chicks were awesome with every response in my my opinion.

Larry really got hot when the caller praised them for agreeing with "70% of Americans against the War."

He snapped back at the caller and "corrected" her that it was,"60% NOT 70%."

Then a caller said that he admired the Chicks for giving a live interview and taking calls.

He said that Rumsfeld wouldn't take calls.

King quickly corrected the caller and let told him that Rummy was taped that is why there were no call ins.

1. They were great
From Larry the usual dribble.

Natalie corrected him and said she read it was actually 72%! That was good. I missed the end, I finally caught it at like 3am and just couldn't stay away anymore.

3. Wow! I couldn't hear her when she said 72%

Go Natalie, I'm buying the album today.

I heard her say something but my bad ear and her beautiful Southern talk didn't get together on that one!

Larry must have been really steamed.

He seemed to show his true colors on that interview, IMO.

4. Propped up with bricks and cement :)

With all the brilliant people in the world why do we have to listen to Tweety, Timmy, Larry etc. all day and all night.

I know you'll say, turn off my television.

But --- if I did that, I wouldn't have been able to see the amazing Dixie Chicks.

Just can't figure it out ~ nor a clue why there is a Tim Russet or Chris Mathews or Candy Crowley or all the rest of the sorry bunch.

None of them can hold a candle to Keith Olberman.

That's not correcting them! It's unequivocally confirming their contention: that it was pre-recorded, without the possibility of questions and answers.

6. I totally agree with you ~ he is a BIG shill

and he showed his true colors with that response.

He was really upset and wanted to kiss Rummy some more but his Ambien must have been making him sleepy by that time.

He seems to do so well with people like Merv Griffin, he is lost in the 40's.

8. Also with the ABILITY to edit!!!!
I accept the fact that there are some guests who, for a lot of reasons, cannot appear live, but it always amuses me when most of the very controversial ones are always taped! Not only on LK, but on all shows! Helps keep their feet out of their mouth!

As if by asking again and again, he could get them to feel that their earlier answers needed amending, but they never did, they stuck to their guns. Just like the song says.

10. It's a pity they didn't ask King why he kept asking them such a
peculiar question. It would have been interesting to hear his reply, to a group of young woman who are as popular as Bush and his supporters are unpopular.

23. It was great because of the Dixie Chicks!

They are so intelligent, attractive and talented.

I use to think that Larry was liberal too but I can't recall any recent interviews where I got a sense of his Liberal Views.

That was once part of his charm but he really needs to retire and live it up with his 6/7/8th wife. I lost count.

ticked me off royally! He could have just kept his mouth shut and NOT defended the psychos, but NOOOOOOO...he had to do the bidding of the WH. He went out of his way to correct those callers. The chicks ROCKED. Larry SUCKED. That's MY take on it.;) :hi:

34. Aren't they adorable?
I like Emily, the one that plays banjo. She is the blonde that is not the singer. She's the one that had to keep correcting King because he kept forgetting their names. She's so cute.

They did a great job. It was copacetic. I was surprised they didn't let any bad calls come through. That guy who talked about Rumsfeld being a coward was the highlight of it for me...called him a coward. Thanks guy, whoever you are. Rock on!

30. They were probably talking about two different polls
Larry was no doubt citing a CNN poll of some kind. The other one may have been from somewhere else.

FWIW, a lot of Larry's shows are like that -- taped interviews with no calls -- and that includes "celebrities" and political figures alike.

32. I heard that when Natalie was born, her middle finger came out first!
I am awed and inspired by the willingness of the Dixie Chicks to take a stand even if it is an unpopular one. I hope their actions shame those who consider it their duty to blindly follow whoever is able to buy and/or steal their way into the White House. Bush has never deserved respect as the duly elected President of this country and, as far as I am concerned, those who ignore the FACTS surrounding his installation into the presidency are the ones who are displaying a lack of patriotism. Bravo, Dixie Chicks! I'm with you all the way!

36. heard on the charismatic/pentecostal grapevine that several of their
preachers have been meeting with King 'trying to convert him.'

Also heard the same way that her chauffer was working hard to convert Jane Fonda. She did convert but fortunately didn't buy the lie that belief in Christ means you must immediately become a right-winger.

Like one of my freshman students at a conservative christian college said years ago: 'I never heard until I got here that if you're a christian you must believe in no gun control.'

that was a very liberal Democrat.

Then he started going to one of the Mega Churches and Wammo ~ he is now drinking the Bush Kool Aid.

I've been trying to figure out a way to ask him have they brain washed him.

The only thing that he really gets thrilled about is going to church every Sunday from 7 AM - 3 PM.

I got involved in a Bible study then church after being a lukewarm Methodist growing up and when I stopped going it was as if I had been brainwashed for those 10 years. I respect other's belief systems but will always be leary of ones who have such a hold over the people and how they believe.

39. King's wife is a Mormon
from Utah. I'd attributed his wimpiness on Bush* to his young wife's influence. Also, King will not go against the Bush family. He cut his old friend Kitty Kelley off because if he didn't, none of the Bush family would ever go on his show again.

Do Mormon's believe in face lifts?

I saw his wife on tv last week and she looked like a witch.

She has had some face work done that didn't work well at all IMO.
