COLUMBUS | Approval ratings for both President Bush and Ohio Gov. Bob Taft, both Republicans, dropped to historic lows in the latest Ohio Poll released Friday.

The poll, sponsored by the University of Cincinnati, found Bush with 35 percent approval and Taft at 26 percent — the rates are the lowest for a president and governor since the poll began in 1981.

Previous lows were for two Democrats – President Bill Clinton, 45 percent, in 1994, and Gov. Richard Celeste, 32 percent, in 1983.

Eric Rademacher, poll co-director, said it's too early to tell how the low ratings might affect the outcome of the November elections.

1. Ohio doesnt have a provision for it
I think that California is a bit of an anomaly in that it has a provision for recall of a govenor.

But they have provisions for impeachment of a govenor. Given Tafts terrible performance, his guilty admission of crimes and tons of other non convicted crimed, he certainly qualifies.

3. Damned tough site to get through
I wanted to send a LTTE about that story and saw a few other ltte's that needed a response, but it was too confusing, or it's too late. I wanted to snark about the poll # and smackdown a Bushbot LTTE. I think the letter was from the 2nd. I'll bookmark this one and try again tomorrow. I think they both deserve some attention. I know people from the Dayton area are smarter than that.
