I've snapped. I've stopped watching the news, and become addicted to reruns of Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Seriously ....

:silly:

10. Great use of tanglefoot!
Edited on Sat Jun-03-06 01:50 AM by shireen
I took a quick look at your website ... that tanglefoot story totally cracked me up!!! What a brilliant idea, spreading that goo on "Impeach Bush" yardsigns as a gift for those right-wing-jackasses who were vandalizing them. Brilliant! :applause: :woohoo: :kick:

16. I'm glad you liked my Tanglefoot solution to end the right wing madness...
...let's spread the word around since the midterms are coming up fast - especially in Ohio where theft was rampant. But it's bad here in Ann Arbor too, which is a democratic stronghold. Something needs to be done to stop these right wind extremist psychos from breaking the law with acts of vandalism. They NEVER play fair.

Thanks for the input.B-) I'm suffering every minute of this administration, BTW. It just plain sux.

2. I don't know the last time I watched the news. I am so f*cking
sick of Shrub and the whole Shrub crime family.

Everytime I see junior on television or hear his fake Texas accent I get a knot in my stomach. It seems like everytime pissypants opens his mouth, someone gets boned.

I don't know if I am going to make it for two more years.

17. Now they're grooming Jeb and diebold machines are spreading like...
...weeds. The game could be over. But dubya is such an absolute war criminal and failure that maybe he's ruined it for Jeb. Who knows at this point. Nothing surprises me anymore.

3. Not watching the news is a good thing
Who needs the propaganda? You'll learn much more here.

I'm doing okay, thanks in large part to the fact that I think the right wing cabal is starting to crumble. It gives me hope. Right after the election, my hope was just about gone.

4. I have disliked Presidents in the past.
But I have a visceral reaction to the sight of *'s face and the sound of his voice. I must turn off the TV or radio if he is on. I hate seeming his mug in the paper, or even on DU.

I have never had that sort of reaction before. I would have regarded it as immature. But I can't help it.

32. My sentiments exactly! Even if it is something that might be important, I
can't watch him because he irks me so badly. I have to wait and read it here or get a clip of it from the MSM.

He irritates me in his walk, talk, smirk, hateful eyes - everything about him. I agree it's immature - but I also can't help it.

19. I'm surviving
But I am one of the ones who is more likely to survive. I am a white male, native born American with an advanced degree.

I always said that after Bush's "re"-election in 2004, the people who would suffer the most, far more than I ever would, would be less privileged people and people who are not from the mainline, core culture of America (WASP, heterosexual, you know what I mean, etc.)

20. Soldiers to the Front

i felt bruised and battered from day one of the Bush Crime Family saga. So i became part of a little group... We called ourselves Hands on Democracy, modeled on the Kucinich platform. From there it was Progressive Democrats of America, Progressive Democrats of Los Angeles, then i went to a CA Dem Convention, then i became a charter member of the Progressive Caucus of the California Dem Party (CDP)... and then i joined the Veterans Caucus and then i went to a Natl DNC convention in Arizona last December.
No time for TV at all. But love my NY Times, Wash Post, Billings Gazette, the HIll..etc ON-LINE!!!.
Today 3 ppl from my first loops and groups are running on the Dem Progressive ticket here in Los Angeles. Gonna toss those Bush lovin Dems' out the door.
And i contribute to them, and other PROGRESSIVE candidates around the USA.

today, 143 years ago 06.03.1863 7000 Union Soldiers died in the first hour of battle at Cold Harbor, VA...

34. Welcome to DU!
I wander between pissed off Dem. to hunker down stage. We bought a house and land in an undisclosed location and will have a place to hide out if things get worse.
With 70% of the population against this regime, I don't see how it can function any longer. It is just that they own the media and the voting machines.

21. I'm coping ok
I found out tonight that 4 more of my co-workers who were formerly pro-Bush are now
anti-Bush.
I, like some of you, have been going through a period of depression because of this
fucked up situation, but the freepers I work with are actually trying to "make nice with
me" now.They're seeing the light.

Things looked bleak from George Washington's eyes, but he didn't give up.
And I will not give up, nor give in to these fascists.

Please hang in there.

And don't be disappointed if the repukes cheat in November.

I am a firm believer in the Spirit of '76

WE WILL PREVAIL

Keep signing petitions, e-mailing your (supposed) representatives, attending meetings,
attending protest meets, putting bumperstickers on your car, donating $5 or $10 dollars
or more to the people who as blm puts it "are fighting the battles"

WE THE PEOPLE WILL PREVAIL

Trust me on this. This is no time to be weak. Persevere and be Vigilant!

22. Curled up in the fetal position whenever possible
And filling the rest of my time with full-time college courses and two jobs and three kids. If I keep busy, I don't have as much time to think about it. And thanks to what Smirky has done, now I *have to* do those things just to have any hope of making it in the future. Fun fun fun!

If I had more tolerance for alcohol - or could afford it, for that matter - I'd drink every day to deal with it.

citizens. I expect the next 10 years to be fine, though persistent deterioration internationally will continue. If the trend is not stopped before then, at some point America will stop being a place anyone wants to go to or do business with. We will start experiencing world sanctions. The chief architects will be Russia and China.

The Middle East will still be in turmoil and our military will still be there, although it will no longer be a volunteer only affair. Drastic times call for drastic measures.

I believe our infrastructure is sound enough to sustain our quality of life for some time, though labor will skyrocket in price and inflation will be out of control. In the US, this is how the rich and poor battle it out.

People think Isolationism is a choice, but it seems to me that it is usually imposed. I expect that Nationalism will flourish, but times will be hard because money will be difficult to find. Unemployment and poverty will abound.

God forbid it come to this. I think there's time to stop the mess.

And if we come back to today, there are real possibilities at hand. Many, many competent people have emerged into the spotlight who would defend a Democrat. Likewise, some more sober voices have emerged among Republicans. The Great Silence that gripped our minds in the new Millennium may yet be defeated by the Music of the Spheres. Mother Earth herself may compel us to put an end to this racket that has smeared what was once the voice of the free and the brave.

Free men don't murder innocent children.

Brave women don't tolerate murder, no matter what the rationale.

This must stop and this must stop now.

It's not just a few of us who feel this way. Millions of people marched across America on February 15, 2003, to protest the Iraq War, and that was when support for Bush's War was inconceivably high. Imagine what the number would be today, should Bush want to start another war. Is it enough? Will it be enough? I don't know, but that many people speaking together is something very special.

That is a voice.

And it's not mine. It's ours. Americans.

That's where I'm putting my hope. And, that's why I'm not doing half bad.

Peace.

37. A heck of a lot worse than when Clinton was in office.
I shouldn’t complain because I’m doing great compared to a lot of folks. But promised raises have been denied to me due to the economic health of the city I work for. My monthly bills are higher even though we’ve cut unnecessary things like cable TV, an extra phone line and heat (I’m so glad it’s summer, bring on the heat!!!).

The worst thing is that I’ve become more negative in how I view people and their motives.
