1. You know, every talking head on Corp News is making fun of Gore -
they must know that he is gaining momentum. It's shameful how they trash him.

2. Interesting.....

I hope the subscribers realize that Gore could accept only a maximum of $5000 from any such effort.

In addition, if Draft Gore 08 wanted to provide the names to any potential Gore campaign, they have to sell the list.... they can't just provide the names for free. The owners of DraftGore08 have to be compensated at fair market value -- by FEC regs.

Anyone who wants to donate should by all means do that. So long as they are aware that they're merely providing money to the people running the draft organization to spend as they see fit and it's not going into any Gore coffers. Ever.

4. Draft Gore 2008 is a registered PAC...
And they pledge transparency for any expenditures. They want to put together a ground operation for a Draft Gore movement, and the campaign manager is an experienced field director who worked for Clinton-Gore, Gore-Leiberman and Kerry-Andrews. Sounds serious to me!

10. I know a lot of 'experienced' field directors
Many of them are great, some of them are more interested in, well let's just say, vendors are important to professional 'field staff'. They always make sure their vendors get paid.

"Field' in politics doesn't always mean what you think it does.

5. There are MANY other ways a PAC can spend money for Al Gore...
Direct contribution being the least important.

7. You've got the PAC law all wrong, Kat.
A single individual can donate up to $5,000 to a PAC. The PAC can pay out any or all of its funds to any candidate or candidates.

8. Soooooo NOT true
Edited on Thu Jun-01-06 06:20 PM by Texas_Kat
In fact, once a 'PAC" is set up, the potential candidate cannot communicate with the "drafters" in any direct fashion.

Believe me, i lived through it all.

A PAC can give a candidate $5000, an individual can give a PAC $5000, an individual can give a candidate for federal office $2100 dollars.

Look it up if you don't believe me

9. I wish people would concentrate, and donate, to 2006
THEN worry about 2008.
