Ky gov Ernie Fletcher (R) has asked his Lt Gov to resign.
He has refused to resing. Pence has said he would not seek reelection in 2007. Ernie wants him out of the way most likely to put in someone who would make a good running mate for him.

I love watching Republicans rip themselves apart.

4. Too bad none of the indictments were felonies. I'd love to see him
try to get back the right to vote using the draconian rules he has placed on felons.

golden boy. Ernie, a champion of the Christian right came in office with the promise to clean up the mess in Frankfort. Since then most of his administration has been indicted then given amnesty for past and future crimes. At this time Ernie is under 3 criminal indictments. Ernie has declared that he is running for reelection in 2007. Steve Pence his running mate in the last election is the lt Governor. Steve Pence has declared that he will not seek reelection, leaving Ernie without a running mate. So today Ernie called Steve and asked him to resign. Stevie refused.

The problem has been with merit employees. The state has rules on hiring and firing, but Ernie has ignored them. He has been hiring based on party affiliation, and firing people for not switching to the Republican party.

forgot to add. Mitch McConnell won't even say Ernie's name, much less appear on stage with him. If you want a friend to stick with you when times get tough, do look to a Republican.

7. Hell, yes, he's corrupt!!
He actually had the nerve to campaign in the guise of a "returning to values" bullshit candidate, even using pictures of small children(the political advertising equivalent of big breasted models) on his bumper stickers, and never during the campaign did he mention the child he had out of wedlock with a woman that wasn't his wife. Apparently strong values can lead to amnesia. I'm disappointed Pence didn't tell Ernie "You first."

9. You forgot to add
That Pence came to prominence prosecuting government officials for misconduct - I think he's just tired of holding his nose everytime he goes to the Governor's Mansion.
