Getting swiftboated
I was just sitting around, eating pizza, drinking a beer, and watching mythbusters. My mind turned to the issue of people being swiftboated. And I thought, really, being swiftboated is kind of a badge of honor. Kerry was swiftboated and if turned out the "boaters" lied - all the evidence shows that he did serve honorably. Murtha got and is getting swiftboated. Given, McCain's a dick. But at least in the first two cases, I would much rather be like them than the boaters.

So why not get some buttons that people can put on their coats/suits that say:

Badge of Honor
--------------
I got swiftboated by the Republican Noise Machine

Something like that would do nicely. It would bring to light the actions of "the Republican Noise Machine," put the person with the pin in the light of being a victim in a sense, and add a heap of derision on top of the Republican Noise Machine to boot!

1. I really like that line of thought. We need to backfire the pug
attacks by making them look silly. We would clean their clocks in every election.

2. Great idea!
Candidates could even bring it up during their speeches! If they could get the audience to laugh - that would be an effective neutralization.

3. Great idea. I love it ~ making a mockery of their lies, and turning it
back on them is what they deserve. They are gearing up, probably sitting around in dark basements plotting and planning who they will attack. I remember the last election on the rightwing board I was on. They didn't know who was going to be the candidate, but they were ready for Kerry. So when it looked like Dean or Clark might win, they didn't have enough material ready. They had Kerry stuff from the beginning though.

We may as well expect it and be ready to slam them back hard this time. Don't give them an inch. This is a great idea ~
