Build the fucking wall.
Do you honestly believe that corporations will raise workers' wages if a fucking wall is built????

Do you honestly believe any CEO bastard will give up their enormous profits for your benefit????

Who will you blame falling wages on then????

We just need to enforce the employment laws already in place.

7. If you build it, they will climb.
:hide:

On a more serious note, if we actually did build a wall so that immigrants could not come to work here, the jobs would migrate to them instead. Then, not only would we not have jobs, but we would not have their income to tax either.

3. It's just a game. The fact they are building it so slipshod proves it.
Another poster put up the heckle-worthy pics.

Besides, why can't Mexicans fight to improve their country?

Fleeing one's country seems rather selfish, albeit from a certain perspective.

Take away the jobs and there wouldn't be any reason for them to try to cross.

17. As long as GW is in office, major employERS will not suffer

one bit.

So the fines will be placed on all employers that have had or currently employee illegals?

Question~ As we speak, I have an Hispanic Tree Surgeon lifting a gigantic tree out of my back yard.

What would I have to do, since I am the employER, to know absolutely, that everyone of the 8 helpers is a LEGAL citizen of the United States?

I ask that question because they would not start with the Developers that line GW's pockets, they would start with me, average citizen.

If I could be assured that the GREEDY not the NEEDY would be the winner I'm half way there on this one but --- it ain't happening that way.

28. You aren't the employer.
Edited on Wed May-31-06 08:57 PM by LostInAnomie
You are purchasing services from the employer. There is a world of difference. But if you were, it does not take any effort to have your employees present you with more than just a social security number.

The line about how hard it is to be sure that you are hiring a US citizen is pushed by those who aren't interested in knowing.

You are right about how the little guy will be the one to suffer though. Walmart is a prime example of how big business is protected when it comes to illegal hiring.

10. build a wall, bury the mines
conceal the poison gas vents and cover the machine gun emplacements.

With the proper vulcan gun installations along the border in concealed raytheon mounts,
that can vapourize any immigant in to a cloud of depleted uranium and flesh/bood vapour.

Then the border will be clean. Nobody will cross until the germans end around the forests
of the ardenne... but that's later...

Canada get it's own wall? Interesting question. I suppose when their economy collapses under the weight of rampant corruption, then lacking the courage to do something about it, they start crossing the border enmasse. That should do it. Thanks.

22. I Agree With You
The problem is with the corporations, not illegal immigrants. If a wall is built, they will just find other ways to screw us over. They are greedy & don't want to pay anyone a fair wage. Bashing immigrants is a waste of time. We need to start asking why capitalism doesn't seem to be working for most people. If it's so great, then why do so many people suffer under this system?

Make it a felony to employ illegal aliens, prosecute CEOs and business owners, problem solved (after a general amnesty of course).

But, like you said, profits, it won't happen with Rs running the show.

32. As if a wall is going to do any good ...
Roughly 40,000 vehicles per day pass through the San Ysidro border crossing (San Diego) into the United States from Mexico -- and that's just one border crossing. Additionally, you do realize that much of the coastlines of Texas and Southern California are a short boat ride from Mexico, no?

I lived in Japan for 9 years in the 1980s and '90s, and there were plenty of illegal immigrants there from Asian countries. In case you didn't know, Japan is an island nation surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of miles of open sea.

The wall is just a PR measure. Pure folly.

... for thinking.

My initial "Build the fucking wall" comment wasn't sarcasm; it was fed upism & pissed offism at the immigrant bashing that's been going on of late... half the time I feel like I've logged onto a fucking freeper site. Too many people just don't seem to get that it's the fucking corporate greed that is the fucking problem, not immigrants.

They make enough money to be sure. Once they feel it in the pockets and lose their freedom they'll stop the practice. Next thing you know there won't be any more "illegal immigration" problem.
