Sorry if I'm missing the big picture here.

4. No. Biloxi.
Right on the beach near the resurrected Edgewater Mall. The debris from the shopping center is sobering testimony to what happens living by the beach. They sure didn't waste any time building this huge feckin condo or whatever it is.

3. It's definately NOLA. Are they rebuilding the hotel
before the supporting businesses?

5. Biloxi- Hwy 90
Of the construction I've seen directly on 90, it's these tall targety things. With the carcasses of business and homes lying strewn about the neighborhood that surrounds it.

9. Amazing isn't it?
The "big guys" can come back and rebuild. The little guys probably won't ever have the funds or the support to do that. Others will come and fill in the missing support businesses, but those that owned the ones you have pictured probably can't afford to take the chance again, I would imagine. If they would just free up some of the SBL's that are languishing out there, maybe they could, huh?

The Gulf Coast - our forgotten natural war zone.

10. Yeah, lots of businesses haven't been touched
I don't know if they are waiting for insurance settlements or what. I went by a bed and mattress store and all the stuff is still sitting in there with the roof caved in. Beds, mattresses, nothings been touched.

I went by one of my favorite bars (just a slab among many) and nearby was another slab with a couple of lawn chairs, a barbeque and a flag (not a Merkin flag either). It looked like a patio with no house in sight. It was sad, yet hopeful. Not a quitter there.

8. I was going to guess Florida
We didn't get hit nearly as hard, especially in loss of life. But you still see stuff like this BS all the time! I bet there are folks living in FEMA trailers and RVs within a block or two of here! Any takers??

12. There's FEMA trailers on nearly every block
Three of four houses I used to live in back in the day are totaled or gone completely. Most of the job sites I used to work at when I was younger are all gone too. It's really hard to conceptualize it, even when you see it with your own eyes.
