RAW STORY
Published: Wednesday May 31, 2006

Former Enron broadband unit executive Kevin Howard has been convicted on re-trial, while former accountant Michael Krautz was acquitted of charges against him, RAW STORY has learned.

Mr. Howard was convicted of conspiring to manufacture earnings for the broadband unit as it struggled to survive. Prosecutors contended that Howard schemed to sell an interest in future profits from a video-on-demand venture that never materialized.

Mr. Krautz was found not guilty of conspiracy, fraud and falsifying records.

The former executives' first trial ended with jurors unable to reach a consensus. Just six days ago, Enron executives Kenneth Lay and former Jeffrey Skilling were convicted of fraud and conspiracy.
