Guys like JA are not totally ignorant. They have to "appear" as though they are on the up and up for gosh sakes. To assume that everyone he contributed to (indirectly) was bought is jumping the gun.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10507328/

Appearing on Fox TV, Reid said, "Abramoff gave me no money. His firm gave me no money. He may have worked (at) a firm where people have given me money."

A Reid aide later explained that the senator received money from a political action committee affiliated with a firm where Abramoff had worked, but Abramoff did not contribute to it.

"I feel totally at ease that I haven't done anything that is even close to being wrong," ~ Harry Reid

when he donated to their campaigns. While his entire NETWORK was working 24/7 against them both.

SOP for GOPS to cover their asses for sake of appearance.

2. Per the record all the money went ONLY to GOPers. Dems got funds
from his clients or employees of law firm that had a tangential relationship with our little evil doer.

7. Why did he seem to only give money to those Dems with
Indian casinos in their states? Seems if it was part of a coverup he would have made it less obvious.

12. Indian casinos come with Indian land and a need for Indian schools
Indian schools was the cause that Dems thought the tribes were chasing.

13. You could be right. And hopefully the investigation will show that.
One of my favorite senators, Mary Landrieu, is caught up in it. I hope you are right.

9. Hopefully all the Dems are as comfortable as Reid..
While I'd love to believe that no Dem would take money from JA, I'll wait for the trial to make a final judgement. If reports are wrong and there are Dems involved then they should get what's coming to them. Before you go flaming me remember I did say IF

17. Somehow I knew it wouldn't be you Molly...
but there was a thread here a few days ago where there was a serious flamewar between those who think the Dems should be punished if guilty and those who think the party can do no wrong.. Now that I think about it it was a typical day in GD ;)
