5. A creationist would say, I think, that the layers are from the flood
and that most of the shaping was from the flood. They would also say that the geological forces that shape land work faster than scientists let on. You cannot argue with these rubes.

7. Or, in the past rocks were a lot softer
And thus erosion happened at 1000000 times the speed than it does now. It's a variation on the speed of light argument they use.

8. God placed those fossils there to test your faith
I was told this once after showing a creationist a foot diameter ammonite (shell) fossil I found on top of a mountain.

They aren't honest with themselves or others.

14. Hey.. wait.. Seattle had 40 days and nights of rainfall over the
winter holidays. Nobody built an ark though. And unless you went to the woodland park zoo, it would have been pretty tough to pair up all those animals.

16. Your post puts me in mind of something
I had long since forgotten. Decades ago when I was young (early '70s) I was in the Air Force and stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL. I remember now that on one of the main public roads that lead to the base there was this guy who was forever building this huge boat in his yard. We always used to joke that it was an ark. In retrospect, it now seems not really surprising that this occurred in Florida. :-)
