OMG, marriage is under attack!
So that is why Scarlett Johansson has not married me yet... I knew something had to be up. I just heard Bill Frist saying that marriage is under attack and it's all making sense to me now!

Now I hate to pick on our Gay and Lesbian friends here on DU, but if you would all just quit attacking the sacred institution of marriage, maybe Scarlett and I would be able to live our lives in happiness. The gall you all have!

Seriously, are we going to see this dead horse getting beaten again all year? I mean how ridiculous is that? Marriage under attack? Have these people ever seen the divorce rate stats in Red States? As if people actually sit around and think of new ways to devise an attack on the concept of marriage. If Republicans couldn't find a way to divide people they wouldn't win a thing, because they have absolutely no track record of doing anything to win an election on merit.

1. Rest easy, the Flag Burning debate is coming.
Edited on Sun May-28-06 11:37 AM by IMModerate
If there's anything that can push aside the horrors of the war on marriage, it's this tsunami of flag burning incidents that plague are country and threaten life as we know it. And this time, they have Hilary! Be very afraid!

Edit: Really stupid mistake.

the horrors of singing the National Anthem in Spanish!! (Don't tell them that over 60% of Americans don't know the anthem in English).

6. When are the Republicans going to investigate Apple Pie?
I'm very concerned with the precipitous decline in apple pie consumption. Are the ____________ (immigrants, gays, minorities, insurgents, Democrats) hurting our will to consume our All-American Dessert?

2. Someone should just look at these losers and say, straight out
"and if you dumbfucks wouldn't insist on marrying your cousins, we could eliminate the Republican party and no one would ever miss it."

God I'm evil this morning.

5. Because don't you know
polygamy and bestiality are right behind. :sarcasm:

Someone the other day had a great post about how gay marriage was actually a tool to strengthen marriage. If it is something that people aspire to have, even when legally forbidden, it mustn't be all that bad.

And, FWIW, when Rosie O'Donnell married Kelly in San Francisco, the next morning when I woke up, my marriage was still intact.

so long as they say their vows in English!

In any case, that's the Log Cabin Republican platform.

made on our marriage yesterday. They just about forced us to argue with one another about the checking account, toilet seats left up and which tv show to watch tonight. It was ghastly. I'm not sure we can withstand another assault; we may not talk to one another for a couple of days -- the horror.

Why can't Republicans pursue important issues like carving "In God We Trust" into every American's forehead?

What have we done that has caused the Right-Wing to have so assiduously aimed their venom at Wetzelbill and Kurovski?

I've had it with the politics of personal destruction.

18. Yeah along with Christianity
The thing I hate most about right wingers is the way they claim to be victimized by the fact that the State does not recognize THEIR way as The American Way and enforce it on all those heathens.

They hate America.

21. It is killing mine
When my buddy John comes over and we have a few of his killer Margaritas, well I just get stupid and he cleans up my kitchen. My husband thinks I am a loser now and I am afraid he is going to run off with my buddy who at least tries to clean up.

OK, silly story but I wanted to play too. What a damned shame it is that they have to create more enemies to slay to appear competent.

How does one have time to keep track of all of the threats?

24. the most recent stats I could find were 1998
The top 10 states for divorce were
1. Nevada
2. Tennessee
3. Arkansas
4. Alabama
5. Oklahoma
6. New Hampshire
7. Wyoming
8. Idaha
9. Kentucky
10. Arizona

Thanks alot New Hampshire or it would be a clean sweep. In the next group of 10, only 2 are blue states.

Good luck with Scarlett, btw

but she also said that even if it weren't for the gays and lesbians attacking marriage, that she wasn't interested in you, but it was easier for you to believe that you would have her if it weren't for those evil gay and lesbian people.
