Us vs. Them...
This is actually a simple equation if you think about it, and a stark one.

The Bush Administration represents 400 families in this country, they represent about 1200 individuals or so(Average of 4 people per family), and own about 60% of the entire wealth in the nation, from land to hard currency, they own it. Also, during the past 30 years, their combined incomes have increased about 700%.

Now, then there is everybody else, all 300 million of us, most are working stiffs who have seen our combined incomes DECREASE about 10% or so, adjusted for inflation in the past 30 years.

So, let's break down the numbers here:

1200 people vs. 300,000,000 people, now you can see why they are so keen to keep us in the dark about the class warfare THEY have been waging against the rest of us. They try their damndest to keep us divided, using hatred and fussed up words, they did their best to buy out and then pretty much kill any semblence of fair media in this country, and they feel they are winning. But, if we do TRULY play the numbers game, and wake up the real sleeping giant, they would be the ones running scared.

Now, let's look beyond our borders here for a minute, with trade policies affecting every single person on the planet we have to think like they do. So, who does the WTO represent, I would guess about 36,000 individuals, if that. These include the richest families and investors of the world, and they in turn impoverish all 6 billion of us the world over to keep their wealth.

We need to look at who the REAL enemy is in this war of aggression against the peoples of the world, and we need to finally FIGHT BACK!

3. In terms of numerical advantage, the answer is obvious

4. Slighly less obvious, though, is that...
...violence is not necessary with such overwhelming odds. All that is required is that we agree on the sort of nation we want. Step out into the streets for only twenty minutes, as one, and even our corrupt representatives will do as they're told.

5. My point is exactly that!
A gigantic numeric advantage like that doesn't need to engage in actual violence. One would think the threat implied by those huge numbers would be sufficient.

6. Then good on you for not leaping to the most obvious solution.
I think the working class is waking up, but we are still profoundly ignorant, and Big Money likes it that way. It's all that's preserving Them from Our wrath.

12. That which is "not necessary" is often inevitable, nonetheless.
I don't believe there's ever been a war where the boots-on-the-ground combatants didn't have more intrinsically in common with one another than with the 'senior leaders' that sent them.

Personally, it was quite an epiphany to me to realize I had far, far more in common with the NVA 'soldiers' (15 or 16 years old) I saw being treated for their wounds and interrogated after the night of February 23, 1969, than I had with Nixon and his cabal (including Kissinger). Part of that epiphany was realizing that the Vietnamese with whom I interacted during the day might be trying to kill me at night. ("It's only business, not personal.") Once we begin to comprehend such allegiances and political forces, it's very easy to understand how Union and Confederate soldiers 'conversed' across the lines when not firing at one another. Only the sociopaths among us got their rocks off by "greasing the slopes." (A combat zone attracts sociopaths like darkness attracts cockroaches.)

The corporatists have ALWAYS set people against one another. The "Battle of the Overpass" and union-busting and scabs and illegal immigration and Iraq and ... the list goes on. I have not yet seen anything in our political system that assures me we won't eventually have blood in our streets. Lots of it. It seems inevitable to me.

10. There you go again, proposing that it's somehow impossible.
Suggesting that there is simply no ding dang way, absolutely no way to stop these few people.

That's stinkin' thinkin'.

7. Vote
The system was designed to counter minority control through the vote. For years the vote held the minority in check.

Once the vote began to be counted, not by humans, but by faceless machines, the minority gained an upper hand.

Non-violent change is possible in free, fair, and open elections. But we've allowed that possibility to evaporate by allowing our votes to be placed in vote vaporizing machines.

13. It should probably be remembered that the first voting machines ...
... were introduced during the age of "Robber Barons" over 100 years ago. These lever-action voting machines have been the foremost tool for voting fraud for a century, in terms of large numbers. "Stuffing the ballot box" with paper ballots is far too limited in its scope as a technique for truly widespread fraud in large numbers.

9. royalty/the landed gentry/the wealthy class has ALWAYS had
a primordial, burning fear of the great unwashed. the mob. the vulgar.

at one time, the only literate people were the wealthy (landowners, nobility). they kept things like education and literacy for themselves and their progeny.

why do you think bolshevism/communism was greatly reviled in many western nations for so long?

the memory of the 1917 revolution. regardless of whatever historical revisionism you want to spin, it represented the usurpation of a european royal house by the masses. notice i said represented.

the wealthy class in this country would never abide the the vulgar overreaching its meager grasp. and they keep us sufficiently stultified and distracted with the age old mind numbing narcotic: religion. nowadays, religion has its adjuncts like "entertainment," "perpetual debt," and "employment."

15. Great post but It leads me to this thought .
It's not so much "Us vs. Them"

as it is Us Vs Us & Us Vs human nature.

I've met many decent & caring individuals in my lifetime
I've also met many egocentric, greedy & uncaring individuals.

The fact that this problem seems to have been with us throughout history leeds me to believe that it's tied in with
human nature and a remedy if one ever becomes apparent
will not be easy.

That said

I'm all for "EATING THE RICH"

Cheers....
