7 Million never signed up for medicare drug plan - wonder how many died
so far? I know 6 people who simply opted out with expectations of the Dems after 06 elections to rebuild Bush's medicare Drug plan hoax/folley!

1. I'm not dead yet, but I didn't sign up for it
out of protest.

2. We will never know....this adminsitration and it's political
Edited on Tue May-23-06 11:39 PM by MadMaddie
appointees will hide the numbers of deaths just as they did in the Gulf....

As far as rebuilding the plan....it will have to be completely gutted and they will have to start over....What a fucking mess.....

3. Forgot to mention, after waiiting online phones autmatically disconnected
waiting 30 minutes- an hour - 1hour 40 miutes and when you got thru to tell them you wanted to "opt out" because that's what they say your priviledge is, the operator then says we're only accepting calls for those who want to sign up for the drug plan when the letter SS sends you clearly states you must call by the deadline to opt out or you a drug plan will automatically be selected for you.

10. So people who didn't specifically opt out were enrolled anyway?
And they won't have the penalty for missing the deadline?

4. Some Already had Superior Coverage
I didn't sign up because my plan provides better coverage.

6. If you already get a drug benefit under a pension
then signing up for Part D might forever destroy your right to your pension drug benefits, which are often "free" and offer much better coverage (eg--no "doughnut" coverage).

Many seniors have very good reason to avoid signing up. It can be a trap for the unwary.

8. My dad's carrier actually sent a letter
telling him that the coverage he already has is far superior to this sham and not to change a thing. He didn't.

7. Well, let's see. High premiums that continue
Edited on Wed May-24-06 12:03 AM by LibDemAlways
even after the ridiculous "donut hole" is reached and coverage basically ceases until you go broke or die. Plans that arbitrarily exclude certain drugs - no two plans alike. No cost controls. Arbitrary deadlines and penalties.

No wonder this loser fuck-up of a repuke "let's screw seniors and while we're at it make our friends in the pharmaceutical industry richer" plan is a colossal failure. Whoever the Dems nominate in 08 ought to make shelving this turkey and starting over with a simple, sensible plan a top priority.

9. Don't forget, many boomers cost the SS. bookoo bucks - Bush would
prefer if they simply died, how many billions does that save?
