4. I don't know - not entirely accurate
I'd say that Rove and Cheney and Bush (although he hides it) pretty much share 100% in their world view.

The Limbaugh Conservatives have to see themselves as victims no matter how much power they have.

Jerks.

So, quickly, can you summarize what the lessers are experiencing and tell me about it?

Thank you.

I went to that site once when someone told me what a freeper was. I had no idea until I started posting here. I almost wished I'd never gone there. x(

That place is a cesspool of hate.

12. Well, now. . .
I don't mean to defend them exactly. But they are of us. We do have to live them, ultimately. I mean we have to make sure we get them out of power and keep them there, which is why we should understand them better.

They're having a tirade in this particular thread about how they don't understand us. Of course they don't even try.

We don't have to be like them. Do we? And besides, I thought this thread was rather amusing. They're inadvertently calling themselves "baffled outsiders". I think that explains a lot right there.

27. We live around them, freepers do not let anyone who doesn't share their
ideals into their lives. If your unfortunate to be invited into their inner core your still only a window dressing to show them how fair and balanced they are to other freepers. Personally I do not want to be a freepers pet liberal.

I'm sure they even have "black" friends that they won't let into their homes, but its ok to eat with them in public because it shows how open minded they are.

Growing up around freepers one thing I have learned is how they think, its not what they say but how popular it makes them look to be one of those in the know. Thats why they are able to keep in lock step with their leaders and parrot every talking point pukes put out there. They are not into individual thinking, my god who could they blame if that was their ideal.

Name one freeper that you ever saw, read or met that took personal responsiblity for what they have said or done.

Now, though, I'm mostly a full-time writer, just dipping in on cases that really interest me. My publisher would prefer I stayed out of the law, but Rupert Murdoch owns my publisher, so I am duty-bound to annoy the whole corporate establishment with my preferences, am I not?

11. They don't understand Ray Nagin's appeal.
They go on and on with a litany of others that they say they are baffled outsiders about, like Ted Kennedy, Barak Obama, Cindy Sheehan, Dick Durbin, . . .

I find it amusing that they're calling themselves "baffled outsiders".

Seems to me, though, to be ironically indicative of their perverse, us versus them mentality.

17. I think you're giving them more credit
They're uninformed, uneducable, filled with hatred and vitriol for things they do not and can not understand, and they are mean.

They're stupid, so, naturally, they have an 'us v. them' mentality about everything and anything they don't understand, which is a lot of the world.

They're marginalized by their inherent limitations, and, frankly, impotent to the point where they're not even funny.

That's why I avoid them. They're nobodies with nothing to add and no power.

9. Nagin's appeal.
He reminds me of Hosea William. Local GA guy - every time ya turn around he was getting arrested on another DUI, his mouth got him in plenty of trouble, but he did some INCREDIBLE charity work for the homeless in Atlanta. His constituents LOVED him.

There are local characters all over the country. Everyone else looks and says "what's the appeal?". I don't get Nagin either, but I do respect a politician that can admit he sometimes shoots off his mouth and thinks later.

29. Well actually I saw the appeal - his urgent angrycommunications from NOLA
as people were dying in the streets- stark contrast to the "everything's OK" and assorted ridiculous out-of-touch comments coming from BROWNIE.

You gotta admit he made for some great TV moments.

Those kind of images stick with people-- in spite of shortcomings, I'm not surprised that many new orleanians (?) remember him as the guy who stuck up for their city.

34. THAT was refreshing!
Crazy, maybe? Ya' know--when you used to dive a little too deep down at big rock, on Coal river, to bring up a pinch of sand from the bottom?
Or when you (and you know it's happened to you) are absolutely hydraulically driven to the public rest room or the porta-pee and you try to suck a fresh breath at the crack where the walls meet or come out the door with your lungs burning and your jaws puffed out from trying to make one breath last through a quart.
That first big breath is pretty good.
I got down past being baffled at why people favor dems.
It does, kind of, answer that ever present question of how in the hell can anyone be so deluded about reality and could it be possible that there are people who really think and feel as they do--not pretending.

These folks, with the occasional thinking outlier, are really serious about their perceptions of reality. It's as foreign to me as figuring out what a web-worm is thinking (the ones in the wild cherry trees, not in the internet.)

35. Does anyone remember the history behind..
the school buses and the freepers' obsession with them? Did this start on Lamebaugh's radio program or something? Every time the subject of New Orleans and Katrina comes up around a freeper, all you have to do is sit there and wait for it, because you're going to hear about the friggin school buses.

40. school busses
Not sure exactly, but I think their "argument" is that Nagin allegedly had school busses available that could've been used to evacuate N.O. residents, but he didn't use them. I think this was disproven.
