This Morning's Good News on Rove
1. He hasn't been indicted - but he still can be!

2. He hasn't been exonerated - if he was, Luskin and/or Junior would be shouting it from the rooftops! He still could be exonerated - but if 5 trips to the GJ did not give Fitz the impetus, what will?

3. If he's turning, that can only mean a bigger criminal is going down.

2. Yes that is a good way to look at it.
But on number 3, I don't think he's turning. He's working on getting the whole thing quashed by you-know-who.

7. On what basis? National Security? He isn't in charge of anything
important anymore, right?

3. Rove too is a puppet ... his Masters are far above him, outta sight
and Rove has made them mad... He will someday fall on the sword....Oh well, what else is new?

4. And he must be sweating like a stuck pig, not knowing his fate.
That alone brings me comfort!

9. When I read your post the first thing I envisioned
was Rove with his head stuck between the bars of his prison cell, screaming for justice.
That also brings comfort to me.

10. Just heard Lawrence O'Donnell on KO am. He was not too
encouraging. Threw out the possiblity that Rove could be cooperating with Fitz to screw Libby. And thought it was possible that since there was no indictment of Rove, Fitz might not have enough evidence on him. And LO is usually quite anti-administration.

Buzz kill.

12. Not a total buzz kill yet, it's pure speculation right now.
LO is like all of the rest of the pundits, they sing a different song than the one they rehearsed the day before. Flip-flop. (like tweety and scabby; lately).

I say, if it wasn't for Fitz, we wouldn't have any hope at all that this administration will be held accountable for anything.

P.S. I've always liked your username, it's too bad that she still has her belongings in the
"People's House", their stinking up the place.

14. You are so right about Fitz ! I think that way about people like
KO, Madsen, Ash, etc. Sure, they build our hopes up for naught sometimes, but without them - there'd be no one for us to get any truth from! Besides, who's to say they aren't always right and some force comes in post facto and changes the circumstances?

About my name - I picked it during the election. I was absolutely certain then that the election would be reversed, truth would prevail. Ha - well, here's hoping that it will apply when they impeach his ass!!

16. A sealed indictment might be a way to make Rove sweat. What
do they have on me? The longer Fitz lets him twist in the wind, the better. We don't know if he turned. We will just have to wait and see.

17. Yes, I see that - from Fitz's perspective. But why do you think
Edited on Tue May-23-06 04:34 PM by Laura PackYourBags
they (the bad guys) were so intent on giving the impression that there was no meeting. Do you think it was only because they were trying to set up Ash and Madsen? Somehow I think there is more to it. I mean, everyone knows about the meetings and GJ sessions - so what's the big deal about this one.

19. that could be what is going on, but I'm not privvy to that
info, so I can't say yeah or nay. Rumors become fact in any large organization. The people that told him may have believe they knew for sure, or they were set up and TO and others got snagged.

11. It would be a classic Rovian misdirection
Edited on Tue May-23-06 08:28 AM by burythehatchet
One of his classic tactics is to get his opposition to invest their time and energy in chasing ghosts. If he is in the clear, then there would be nothing better for him than keeping us focused on him (witness the interminable "Fitzmas" threads over the past year, for example).

You have to look at the equation of Marginal benefit vs. Marginal loss. The marginal benefit of crowing about his exoneration is far less than the marginal loss for our side in continuing to focus on his posssible indictment.

Does that make sense?

As I've said before, they play chess while we play checkers.

13. Yes, you make sense. You are absolutely right - we should be
focusing on how to win in November - despite the fact it doesn't appear that our leaders have developed a cohesive plan and grass roots movement.

But, I still can't help but think that he wants this monkey off his back asap

You are so right about Rove. You know, I just know he must be behind the Jefferson deal somehow. Oh, he's probably guilty - but I am sure they pushed the whole think along and escalated it. I want to know why they haven't checked the tin foil for fingerprints... haha

15. Funny you mention Jefferson
As I read more about this it becomes clear that Jefferson will be the poster boy for the Nov elections. This case apparently has been going on for a long time. The timing is very Rovian. This is the issue they will use to diffuse the fact of their own corrupted reps.
