Allow me to remind you abu Gonzales' stunt with Andy Card in Sept '03.
What did White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card learn from Alberto Gonzales and when did he learn it ... and what did he do with that knowledge? This "whole new can of worms" (to quote CBS News' Bob Schieffer, on Sunday's Face the Nation) is to me the breaking news question of the day.

Why? Because on the show, Alberto Gonzales admitted that he called Andrew Card right after he was notified that the Justice Department had opened its investigation of the Plame leak ... even though he formally notified The White House staff 12 hours later.

If you think Mr. Fitzgerald has forgotten any of that; if you think the miraculous emergence of all those emails; if you ...

Well, let's just say that torture boy is likely to be just as much a "target" for Mr. Fitzgerald and the GJ as anyone inside the Beltway. It's called obstruction of justice and conspiracy to do just that. I doubt that torture boy has any sway whatever over Mr. Fitzgerald and certainly none over the GJ.

1. I so wish Clinton was president again. Nostalgia big time.
W has screwed up so badly that NO ONE but the tiny percentage of sheeple support him. He and his administration has screwed up in every way even conceived possible in wrecking this country.

The Bushbots went ballistic after a blow job with a consenting adult by Clinton.

But W is intent on burying this country for good or at best a city state of his new global/world empire.

9. 90% percent of you will dismiss this as crazy, but the cards told me this
in January.

Alberto is going down for his part in this. Like Career-ending, Crash-and-burn going down.

He's a key figure in all of these "legal decisions"

10. Not crazy at all. Torture boy is at the core of the cover-up and Mr. ...
... Fitzgerald undoubtedly not only knows it, but so did Comey - thus the nature of the original appointment of Fitzgerald and the subsequent "clarification" of the appointment and the manner in which Comey transferred authority when he departed the DoJ.

Peace.

17. sincere question
What do you mean "the cards" told you? You mean Tarot cards? I used to read them when I was younger but I can't imagine a spread that would be so specific as what you describe. I would be very happy if what you saw is true of course. All of his torture memos and justifications for war crimes make him a very bad person, and a traitor. I would like John Yoo to go down as well. Someday history will tell what these people have done to our country.

14. He's such a worm. (gonzales)
I saw him on one of the Sunday talk shows (maybe the George Stephanopolis one?) discussing the immigration bill, and he wasn't quite as jaunty... like he left home without his personality. Must be the pressure.

Thank you for reminding me of the Andrew Card portion of this. You have reframed and spotlighted that aspect very well. And a huge Thank You to Mr. Comey! His part in this will be crucial if we are to get answers and justice.

Needs one more recommend!

16. Memories indeed.....
Gonzales wouldn't be the first AG to be indicted for obstruction and conspiracy:

"John Newton Mitchell (September 15, 1913 – November 9, 1988) was the first United States Attorney General ever to be convicted of illegal activities and imprisoned.

On February 21, 1975, Mitchell was found guilty of conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and perjury and sentenced to two and a half to eight years in prison for his role in the Watergate break-in and cover-up..... he had met, on at least three occasions, with the president in an effort to cover up White House involvement.... In 1972, he warned reporter Carl Bernstein about a forthcoming Watergate-related article: "Katie Graham's gonna get her tit caught in a big fat wringer if that's published." This threat against the Washington Post publisher is considered the most famous threat in the history of American journalism." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_N._Mitchell

I also wonder what was going on in the Dept. of Justice when the decision was made to advise Gonzo at 8:30 p.m., rather than DOJ waiting to notify him the following morning with instructions to notify staff immediately. To DELIBERATELY give a 12 hour heads-up???

20. But wasn't he told that no evidence was to be tampered with, and
that he was to tell all WH employees about the order? It is odd that the order came in the evening when when most of the staff would not be there, but that wouldn't excuse him if he violated the order not to tamper, or to tell anyone else to tamper with evidence, would it?

Interesting that Andrew Card resigned a few weeks ago and according to what I have read, that Gonzales was in the Federal Court last Friday.

Some people thought he might be there to fire Fitzgerald, but I think he may have been there to answer some questions regarding his role in this crime.

I am trying to remember, but didn't Card either email or talk to Rove after Gonzales' call? I'm probably wrong about that, but thought I heard that somewhere ~

Thanks for all those links, TIW, it's interesting to read back and remember how all this developed to where it is now.

29. Actually, between the CIA and Gonzales
there was something like an 84 hour GAP between the time they heard about it all and passed it on.. (that's 84 regular hours, not Business hours)..

Also, I don't know how many people know that Gonzales was IN the WHIG group as well? You might not be able to tell from a lot of the photos, and there are photos that actually show them meeting.. one of them has been cropped, but the older versions show Gonzales standing off to the left..

Yeah, he was in on this bigtime.. I'm amazed that Card hasn't been popped for trying to delete the emails.

Let's face it, if this thing was for real then ALL of the WHIG group would be sitting in jail.. remember that the standards for "conspiracy" are pretty low legally when you get right to it, all it takes are more than ONE person working in a direction..

But then again, I'm hearing that INTENT is hard to prove, like we KNOW that these guys are scumbags, but was it their INTENTION to kill everyone but them and get incredibly wealthy?

I'm frankly wondering at this point if this is a dog and pony show. For all I've heard of Fitz, so far he'd only got one little fishie, while the 7 lbs PERCH are all swimming around with old lures in their mouths..
