Excellent Kos Rant: Poor, poor Joementum
This one paragraph encompasses the entire diary. It is by far my favorite. Please do link to read the rest.

Funny how the establishment in DC, of which Rothenberg is one of its biggest defenders, hates democracy. God fucking forbid that an incumbent have to justify his existence to the voters of his state! What a fucking travesty! I mean, once elected, an incumbent shouldn't have to answer to the voters, should he?

A Most Excellent Rant.

1. It's not about protecting moderate Democrats but incumbent Democrats

Because the incumbency gives them far more of a holy right to remain in power than the (highly questionable) moderacy.

3. Kos is right.
Heaven forbid Lieberman - or any incumbent for that matter - should have to justify their votes, committee participation and comments, kissing or sucking up to the "other side", etc.

4. Sadly we have a system
where you have to be elected. If you don't satisfy your constituency, they don't have to invite you back.
TOO BAD NOMENTUM. you back the wrong horse you lose the race.
