Will Our Democracy Survive? - ACTION ALERT -
THE NEXT TWO WEEKS WILL DECIDE IF DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA WILL SURVIVE.

And sadly, this is not hyperbole, this is not a joke, nor is this mere
melodrama. Our Democracy is being seriously threatened in a very real way by
men and women who seek to subvert the Constitution and fundamentally change the
nature and form of our government, our country, and the American people.
George W. Bush and his Republican cohorts seek nothing less than absolute power
,
and Sam Alito's elevation to the Supreme Court will all but secure their quest
to overthrow the Constitution.

Bush is now completely and certifiably out of control. But to remove the last
restraint on the creation of a new American dictatorship they must install one
more lock down vote on the Supreme Court, in the person of Sam Alito.

ACTION PAGE: http://www.emailtocongress.com/no_rightwing.htm

Despite Alito's extreme right wing voting record and lifelong ideological
agenda
, nobody expected him to show up at his hearing sporting a tail and
horns wearing a red suit. But what he have seen is an nominee who appears
incapable of telling the truth about what really stands for, who has not so much
testified as allowed his advocates to testify for him.

Indeed, Senator Graham, one of the judiciary committee panel members was
personally involved in coaching Alito how to evade their questions
, while
they themselves emphasize how much they believe he will overturn every
progressive precedent of the last 100 years. About that they are not kidding.
And only your voices speaking out now can turn the tide against this judicial
coup.

ACTION PAGE: http://www.emailtocongress.com/no_rightwing.htm

A two-stage action is being planned. First with the action page above we will
build a consensus that ANY replacement for Sandra Day O'Connor must be no worse
than a true moderate and centrist. Then after the conclusion of the hearings we
will speak out AGAIN on specific question of the final vote in the Senate.

Please submit every possible action page you can get your hands on,
and keep speaking out until we prevail, just as we did on ANWR and the torture
prohibition.

But remember that Alito was the author of the tactic of Bush trying to
spin acts of Congress with so-called "signing statements"
in hopes that some
future Supreme Court (including now guess who) would give them weight over the
will of the people. And Bush did just that with the anti-torture bill, declaring
that he really didn't consider himself bound at all. Every day from now on
must be STOP Alito day, otherwise our democracy is doomed.

ACTION PAGE: http://www.emailtocongress.com/no_rightwing.htm

Even if you have submitted something else recently, please go to the page
above and take a moment to submit it. This battle must be won, there must be a
filibuster, or all else will be ultimately lost. We must all speak out now to
save our privacy, our freedom, and our democracy itself.

1. The democracy is very limited in US
Especially for people of disadvantaged groups.

3. I don't think it matters so much if we win or lose this battle
It is just a battle - not the war.

If this battle - win or lose - does end with a solid dem position, isn't it just another cost of doing business??

Assume for a minute, B*sh does lose control of congress this November. And I think he will. How would you like to be in his shoes then??

One could pick and choose the grounds for impeachment. What they did to Clinton will bite them in the ass.

They cheated, I am sure, and shaved a few points in 2004. And the bet is - I don't think they are capable of doing the same in over 400 elections simultaneously. And the great thing about it is we can VERIFY.

This party, all of us - we need forensic accountants and statisticians THIS TIME up front. Those exit polls were flawed in 2004, they were, the methodology was incorrect. We just cannot afford the same mistake this time.

These bastards even think about sticking their hands in the cookie jar this time - we cut them off.

They are not going to win. Not going to happen. And if it takes letting this guy get confirmed, as long as we do "get a set" because of this, it will be worth it.

The fight is just starting.

5. I agree with you Joe
But how?

How do we "cut off their hands" if they own the cookie jar, the enforcement, the counting machines, the press, etc.?

I don't want to see our ability to fight stripped away before we get the chance to enter it in earnest!! With Alito on the bench, how do you know Bush hasn't got a few cases lined up to be heard by SCOTUS as soon as Alito is installed, cases designed to further empower Bush and to make legal his illegal actions?

Sorry, but looking long term, this battle over Alito may very well decide things. Thus, it behooves us to fight this, now, rather than wait to see what the effects will be.

6. There was a serious problem with 2004.
One could come to the edge of reason, but you really couldn't prove the theft of the election.

Not that it didn't happen - but that is not a proof.

I read Kerry had 20,000 or something lawyers in the wings for this election. Maybe true. So how is it these lawyers failed so miserably - how is it they so missed it, you know??? I am a numbers person, all my associates are - and not ONE thinks the bastard won. How do you explain that to non-numbers people??

It is a function, not a reality. We MUST be more careful now. It can surely be done. Has to be.

There are keys. Not so hard to understand. Population was not sufficient. There was little in the trace to evaluate accountablility. In fact, the key data was totally withheld by Mitrofsky.

So, solutions are pretty simple. Increase frequency of the polled. Expand questionairre to trace the accountibility and keep the key data internal.

Understand it this way, assume a vote gets twisted. Be able to trace the voter to all significant points on route to the conclusion. This will define, could define, a methodology and follow this to its end.

Trust me, that is exactly how the IRS finds people - it is basic auditing.

I think I managed to make this more complicated than it is. Sorry. Think of it this way, maybe - if one can account for the misdeed, then you have a "Live body" to examine - you see?? And you know it represents a pathway for others to flow thru - you know where to look.

They can't win. Too many of our GI parents put too many of us thru school to think otherwise.

They will be sorry for the GI bill in the end, I am sure. They should be.
