I Have A Solution And Explanation To The "DU Has Changed" Type Threads

I was lurking here almost a year before I actually joined, and do agree to a point that there used to be more threads displayed with well thought out content. I think there's still plenty of it. But one thing I've noticed in recent months that I do think has changed a bit, is that in the past there used to be posters constantly on watch for truly meaningful threads to our cause, and they would kick them back up every so often to ensure they got the attention they deserved, throughout different viewing blocks of the day.

That seems to have dropped off quite a bit. Though I do see a lot of threads with K&R, they usually are all within a very small time frame and the thread still sinks. I remember when all the election research was going on the best threads would always make their way back up because a couple posters would make sure they didn't sink.

So I'm not really sure if this is in fact an accurate assessment or not, as it may just be my own perception. But I did not only wonder if others find this true as well, but also if that can't help bring some of the cream back to the top.

If we pay more attention to the threads that matter collectively to us all, and make sure as they are sinking we kick them back up for those just logging on to see, then maybe some of the balance would be restored.

I am of the mindset that this board moves too fast for me, working full time and take care of house and child. By the time I get to check DU, a lot of good threads are way older than 24 hrs.

Thanks for your support though. I too get disappointed when I see a thread I really want to recommend but hadn't seen yet (or didn't get a lot of replies), but then can't because it was over 24 hours old. It's amazing how many good posts get missed on DU everyday if you aren't able to refresh every few minutes.

Sometimes I just go through the first 5 or 6 pages of GD to see what I've missed, but regret that I probably don't do that as often as I should. (page 1 moves too damn fast! Just keeping up with page 1 can be tough LOL)

Now I see you meant you ignore those that say DU has changed, but that really wasn't the main spirit of the thread. That's why you confused me at first.

As for your OP: frankly, I don't know what it is you're trying to say. There are only X number of threads displayable on a page at any given time; you expect people to go back a few pages and kick threads that are days old?
