Castro Denies Forbes Report On His Wealth
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060516/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/cuba_castro_forbes

Forbes magazine "assumes" Castro's vast wealth, "more art than fact" whatever that means.

1. What Forbes really means is they made it all up.......
with assumptions. Not very professional or ethical.

5. Since Her Majesty owns untold, priceless stuff, I doubt that's true
Her wealth can't really be tallied, because of the literally almost priceless artwork, artifacts, etc. she owns.

No frigging way.

3. Castro sez it's false that's all I need to here
Well if Castro denies it, Forbes must be Lying.

"Castro also gave the floor to several top officials,
including Central Bank President Francisco Soberon, to deny
the claims and defend his integrity.
"It is absolutely impossible that someone in the upper
levels of government — and especially not a leader (like
Castro) ... who is recognized by the Cuban people as an
example of humility and self-discipline — could maintain
personal accounts abroad," Soberon said."

There you have it! two people, The head of the central bank in
Cuba denying it also!

Ray

6. Proof that it's true? Forbes has no proof
And, it's about impossible for him to be richer than the Queen. So, what proof do YOU have? Just curious.

As Billy Burnett posted:
Then this makes Castro the most generous man in the world!

If Fidel owns the Cuban state infrastructure (as Forbes claims in evaluating his "assets") then that makes Castro the most generous man in the world!

If Forbes claim is the case, then that means that he provides world class education and provides world class health care for all 12,000,000 people in Cuba! On his own dime!

Who else donates so much personal wealth to so many people? No one that I know of.
(snip/...)
As you can see there are always just enough people around who have never bothered to do any reading who do fall for these stories.

It's one pathetic effort by Forbes.

=====================================

That must be why poor Americans flock to south florida and
build rafts out of junk and risk imprisonment and death from
drowing in shark infested waters to get to Cuba in hopes of
getting a world class education and world class healthcare!

Oh wait a minute, they don't actually do that!

Note the forbes article is titled the fortunes of Kings Queens
and Dictators. Fidel denied the $900,000,000 but didn't deny
he was a Dictator. All over the world dictators amass huge
fortunes while their people starve, Not possible with Fidel?
As lame as this article may be it is head and shoulders above
the defence you people make for this man. News flash, Ralph
Nader wears cheap suits and looks generaly like an appliance
salesman. He is a very wealthy man.

If Cuba provides a world class education why don't they have a
world class economy? A free press? An average gross income
that exceedes $1000?

When is the promise of socalism going to pan out for Cubans?

During the soviet era there was never a lack of people like
yourself who never missed a chance to appoligise for some
marxist despot. I see nothing has changed.
