35. Thanks, BL. Checking in over my turkey sandwich.
Nice to know someone's watching and then we can celebrate together.

I've posted on other messages that the deafening silence from the GOP floggers is all the proof I need that the turdblossom's going down soon. If this weren't true, Frist, Buchanan, Scarborough and even Lieberman would be wagging their swiftboat tongues all over the TV. But for 3 days, crickets.

He's toxic, he's no longer going to be useful to them, and they're hiding from reporters until it's done.

I'll bet most of DC wishes Fitz would get it overwith so life can go on and they can start the lashing of the anti-B*** pundits as usual.

The silence is a little unnerving....It's not like them to hide from the cameras.

9. Yes Please H2O Man
Since you are one that holds knowledge and shares freely (unlike others that respond that they found out, you go find it for yourself :eyes:), if you have any info on where he was last Friday, please do share it with us. It's so disheartening when we hit a wall in search of this info when some appear to "know the answer" and yet withhold it from fellow du'ers because it gives them some feeling of superiority.

That has never been your agenda and I think, never will be. Having said that, could you please help those of us that might not know just where to look for that answer, if you can? It will be, as is all your sharing of knowledge, very much appreciated.

12. I'll try.
People are wondering, for good reason, if Mr. Fitzgerald was in Chicago or DC that day, because they are wondering about reports of his meetings regarding Rove, and court filings on Libby. This is part of the confusion about the articles about the possibility that Mr. Rove was indicted.

Like most people, I know very little for sure. And some of what I do know, doesn't fit exactly. I would recommend that people step away from the focus on what may have happened on Friday afternoon. It may be that more important events began on Wednesday, and continued through Thursday, for all I know.

The controversy about last Friday is of no more significance than what happened when Woodward & Bernstein reported on what they were convinced Mr. Sloan told them about Mr. Haldeman. Their report placed that information in Sloan's grand jury testimony. Even today, it is not clear who owned the error in the report -- a good case can be made either way. Yet it is not important to the Watergate story, other than as a footnote in the risks of journalism.

I will say that, in a short time, we will all agree that Friday afternoon was not significant in the manner that people wondering about. But Wednesday and Thursday?

Things will become clearer soon enough.

7. I only heard this on KO
Patrick Fitzgerald, met with his TEAM on Tuesday afternoon to review the case. It was a signal that he was remaining in Washington, as the Grand Jury meets on Wednesday and Friday. Sounds like it is coming to a decision to me H20.

5. Lunch bags! Paper Lunch Bags! For the hyperventilating!
Cheap and dependable the old brown bag can save your life, needs no batteries, and stores indefinitely.

For those with "Obsessive Refreshing" disorder while waiting for the Rove indictment, we suggest packing a paper grocery bag with two holes cutout for the eyes. You can then read Truthout at Starbucks or at the bus stop with complete anonimity.

BTW, my brother was in Florida all last week, so this conclusively proves that he was not locked down on the 4th Floor. With a cat.

Or so he says...

16. I am not a lawyer but ...
I wonder if both couldn't be possible. Could the GJ have returned and sealed an indictment for perjury and then sealed it, awaiting further action on the obstruction of justice charge? Couldn't it be that the time between that (admittedly it's speculation) initial indictment and action taken today was deliberate, as a way to put pressure on Rove to "flip"?

No, I'm not a lawyer, but I could see this happening, couldn't you?

24. Yes, you are correct and I wasn't clear when I posted that
It could be sealed by the court if the government asked that it be sealed, with proper justification. Couldn't the possibility of additional charges be a reason to allow for it to be sealed by the court? I am just speculating, as I stated previously, but I wonder if it is plausible just the same.

32. Not sure about that
I don't think that there is an obligation for the prosecutor to take the GJ's indictment to the court immediately. In other words, I think it is possible for a Grand Jury to vote to indict on certain charges one day and come back and vote on other charges another day, but the prosecutor can wait until the GJ has considered all charges before presenting the indictment to the court.
I think that more it may be more common for the prosecutor to present the case for indictment on all issues to the GJ and then have them vote on them all at once, so that a single document setting out all of the charges on which the accused has been indicted would be presented to the court. No way of knowing what has been going on with Rove at this point. Maybe we'll know something later today. Maybe not.

25. very good reasoning
and sounds plausible, but I'm not a lawyer either. Hmmmm.... It seems like obstruction of justice is the weightiest charge, in terms of penalties.

When Scooter was indicted, how was that handled (announced)? Did Fitzy call a press conference, or did the info get out first? I realize this one has probably been handled differently.

BIG BAD BUSH WAS BUSTING BROWN PEOPLE AT THE BORDER, and BUSH'S BALL BUSTING SIDEKICK DICK WAS AGGRESSIVELY ADDRESSING THE "LEGITIMATE CONCERNS OUT THERE OF A LOT OF FOLKS" RIGHT ON THE FRONT PAGE IN A BOX WITH A PHOTO NEXT TO BIG BAD BUSH and "WHITE HOUSE WAS TOUTING THE SUCCESS OF THE MEDICARE PLAN," and OUR EVER-FORTHCOMING "WHITE HOUSE" IN ALL HONESTY AND FORTHCOMINGNESS IS GOING "TO TELL LAWMAKERS DETAILS OF SPY PROGRAM," and EVEN THOUGH A FEW LITTLE BAD THINGS ARE HAPPENING ELSEWHERE ("attack kills 23 Iraqis") ALL IS WELL IN BUSHWORLD...

..and I don't need any more proof than this that either Rove has been indicted, or we are actually really and truly living inside the entirely fabricated holodeck of "The Matrix."

Seems like business as usual for him, doesn't it? No job "realignment" took place unless he stops doing these things. Immigration could be his last hurrah issue?
