I want to see PROOF that Americans refuse to do those jobs Bush says
they won't do or i want to see that Americans are unqualified to do those jobs. It's hard for me to believe after leaving Lowes today that the people who waited on me are "qualified" to do their jobs since two of them couldn't understand my English and I sure has hell couldn't understand them. So I walked out without buying a damn thing.

1. The country's biggest lawbreaker doesn't want to see immigrants
break the law. What a farce!

2. You mean the building construction work?
It ain't the american people refusing to do the job, It is the American employer wanting to hire a cheaper work force. Generally through sub-contractors who pocket the difference between the slave wages and union wages.

4. For 1/2 the pay yes
Meat cutter's union - good bye
Bakers - gone
Carpenters union - all but gone
Plasterer and Lathers union - 1/2 gone
Mason's union - hanging on by a fringe
Laborer's union - only prevailing rate jobs

These used to be jobs that could support a family. Any doubt this is happening to suppress wages as a falicy

10. Simple solution...Minimum wage $10 an hour
I have been preaching this now for a while just hoping it will catch on.

6. Yes, and I've done business with Americans at Home Depot.

Americans who couldn't multiply well enough to tell how many feet of 2 X 6s I needed for trim (I gave them the measurements) - AND - their (CAD) wouldn't (or the employees couldn't make it) draw the picture of my deck. They sent too much of some things and not enuogh of others, like the plastic-wood for the deck surface.

Public Education is Broken in many parts of "U.S.".

8. Those Americans Refuse, Because of the Low Wages
they offer. No, Americans are NOT going to work for $2-3 per hour.

He's given the corporations an out with the comment that they don't realize they are hiring an illegal immigrant by not being able to tell the difference between legal and forged/fraudulent papers. He damned well isn't going to put the corporations in any danger of being charged for doing anything under the table. My goodness...el shocko.

9. Many of the Americans who would take those jobs can't afford Cars.
No mass transit in the Midwest.

11. I worked in hotels as a young person...nowadays hotels are stocked
sky high with hispanics who do not speak english. If the jobs were good enough for me, and good enough for persons who are likely undocumented why is it assumed that "Americans" won't work them?

Of all the arguments for the need for immigration this is the one I find full of holes
