Was the latest tax cut simply a bribe to *'s core supporters?

It seemed to come somewhat out of the blue (so to speak). Coming as it did, it seems obvious to me it's little more than a plea for support from *bush's remaining rubberstamp club.

Foolish damned thing to do, IMO, especially now.

Bribe, yep. Stupid, yep. What they fail to understand is that said core supporters are probably worse ingrates than even they can imagine--"Hey, we OWN you. We want it all. Give it to us or your donations are going away..."

You politicians want to stay in the club, keep getting invited to all the good parties, keep making several times as much on your investments as most Americans? You know what to do.
