Hey gang! Liberty University School of Law wants YOU!
Have you ever considered a career in law?

Perhaps you have a son or daughter presently in college who is interested in obtaining an accredited law degree.

It’s not too late to apply for fall 2006 at the Liberty University School of Law <http://www.law.liberty.edu/> ! ( http://www.law.liberty.edu <http://www.law.liberty.edu/> )

And scholarships are still available to law students admitted this summer.

Don’t delay! Call the School of Law Office of Admissions and Financial Aid today (434-592-5300) for more information.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Admission to the law school is competitive and applicants must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) to be considered for admission. If the application is complete by June 1, except for LSAT results, the law school can accommodate the applicant. Registration for the June LSAT closes May 9. Late registration for the LSAT continues until May 19. (Call the law school’s admissions office for details.)

Did you know that the Liberty University School of Law <http://www.law.liberty.edu/> ( http://www.law.liberty.edu <http://www.law.liberty.edu/> ) is provisionally accredited by the American Bar Association?

The law school provides practice-oriented lawyering-skills training which is unrivaled anywhere in the country. The school earned provisional ABA approval in a record 18 months largely because of its excellent program of legal education.

Our graduates will be leaders in the legal profession, in the courts, in legislatures, and in their communities. They will be serving clients and practicing law having had a thorough legal education with a Christian worldview.

The fact is 80% of our current law students say that they are here because a parent, trusted family friend, or pastor recommended that they consider the Liberty University School of Law <http://www.law.liberty.edu/> . ( http://www.law.liberty.edu <http://www.law.liberty.edu> )

So even if you don’t plan to enter law, you may know someone who has this dream.

Many young people (and not-so-young people) are praying about how they can be used by God to transform the culture. As ministers of justice, attorneys with the biblically- based legal education offered at Liberty will help to do just that.

Call the School of Law Office of Admissions and Financial Aid today (434-592-5300) for more information or visit our website at http://www.law.liberty.edu <http://www.law.liberty.edu> to find out more about the Liberty University School of Law.

Cuz Biblical Law trumps everything!

5. Maybe not, but would you put your legal fate in the hands of a faith
based lawyer? I think I prefer a law-based lawyer.

2. well,
Edited on Tue May-09-06 08:26 AM by Romulus
if the goal was to go out and apply Biblical law so as to transform the culture to start:

helping the helpless
feeding the hungry
protecting the environment
ending the death penalty
"throwing out the money changers"
"being our brother's keeper," etc.

then I might just go BACK to law school.

However, I somehow get the feeling that those are not the goals that school has in mind . . .:eyes:

4. They tried to recruit me.
I suppose they saw I was interested in Marquette and translated that into interested in being an Attorney for Jesus or something, instead of translating that into "oh, she lives down the road from Marquette."

7. That seems to be a stretch (for Liberty, not you)
Provisional accreditation, too. I doubt Harvard Law is overly concerned.

9. I just wonder how they're going to maintain ABA accreditation when they
so openly "don't discriminate." ABA requires nondiscrimination based on sexual orientation, period.

Here's their half-assed nondiscrimination statement:
The School of Law does not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation but does discriminate on the basis of sexual misconduct, including, but not limited to, non-marital sexual relations or the encouragement or advocacy of any form of sexual behavior that would undermine the Christian identity or faith mission of the University.

Even Marquette's is better than this (they do have an LGBTQ law group, too). I can't find it online (just the boilerplate "we don't discriminate") but it basically says, "look, we're a Catholic institution and there are a lot of things that are against Catholic doctrine and we do have people who can talk to you about that but that's about all we're going to say."

8. Ohhhhh, I really don't think they want ME!
I doubt very much I'd pass the slanted criteria they have for even stepping on the campus!
