25. That's rank and file Republicans
These people don't have any direct stake in who wins an election (most of us, as rank and file Democrats, don't have a real stake in who wins, either).

Imagine how we'd feel if a Democratic president didn't know what he was doing and always had a new explanation for what went wrong every week while also saying out of the other end of his mouth that nothing went wrong in the first place? Then how would we feel if his top cabinet officers and several other key appointees all had their hands in the cookie jar? And our president defends all of them? And what would we think if the heads of a half dozen important agencies were in their jobs only because they're partisan hacks with no qualifications to do what they are appointed to do? And our Democratic president smiles and tells each of them, "You're doing a great job"?

Then to top that off, a Democratic Congress passes legislation that sounds like it was written by corporate lobbyists because it was, in fact, written by corporate lobbyists? And the budget is redder than blazes and no one acts like there's any reason to bring spending and revenue in line as long as fat cats are happy? Then we'll toss a salacious story about some Democratic congressmen and a call girl ring into the mix, just to spice it up.

Could it happen? Well, let's hope not, but it is possible. After all, greed and corruption and vice aren't partisan.

And how would we feel about it? We'd probably be just as happy to see those guys voted out of office, even if their ideology is a little more like ours than those who will take their places.

That's how they feel.

5. Enemy? "We have" - doesn't Scarborough claim to be
'neutral.' The only way his statement makes any sense is if the show is billed as a GOP show...

Right?

Now if those folks would join the 3 out of 3 Democrats who want to retake Congress, we might get somewhere.

17. Wow bow-tieless boy, states he didn’t vote for W the last time.
He sees his future and it can’t be as a wignut supporter

I swear that is why Tucker lost the bow tie. He is doing a pre-emptive political makeover.

22. Do you believe that he didn't vote for him last time?
I don't believe that at all. Tucker FEARS being on a losing team because he has made such a spectacle of himself ragging on those that he has dubbed as losers. He dropped the bowtie because it was like a bullseye ... He stood out from the herd with it and he knew it. He is desperate to blend in now.

28. WWWFBD?
What would William F. Buckley do?

I can't imagine Carlson not voting for Bush in 2004, but I could imagine him not voting for Bush if he had to in 2006.

Did Buckley vote for Nixon in 1972? I suppose, although he was critical of Nixon's overtures to China. What did his magazine, The National Review, say about Watergate? It said on a editorial following the Saturday Night Massacre that Nixon had done all he could to obstruct justice. In the end, Buckley referred to Nixon and his team as "weak and devious men."

15. Scarborough is reinventing himself to retain Olbermann audience
I've noticed since he switched time slots he's focusing on critiquing the Republicans rather than attacking Democrats no doubt because he wants to hold Keith's money demo who would turn the station if he started attacking the right's favorite liberal targets.

It may prove to be wise because he's up against Hannity & Colmes and Glenn Beck, who nobody on the left will switch to, and Larry King, who nobody interested in current events will switch to unless he's doing a special interview with a political newsmaker.

20. Have we learned nothing?

What was the source of this poll? Was it reliable?

It sounds to me like another ploy to get out as much of the GOP base as possible in November. This is just fear tactics with a new twist. All this talk of impeachment of the Chimp, the danger of a Democratic Congress... it all hangs together.

Come on, folks. Are we trusting Scarborough now?

21. AP-Ipsos poll on MSNBC Website
Actually the poll says 31% of conservatives want the Republicans to lose congress (thats almost 1 in 3). Also 60% of conservatives say America is on the wrong track.

27. Everything has blown up in their stupid, piggy faces
and now they need Democrats to come in and try to clean up their mess.

Conservative Democrats won't be able to do it. This country needs a radical shift away from conservatism, something most elected Democrats in office now are not willing to do.
