Ha, Ha! Goss: "My Resignation One Of Those Mysteries" Sez CNN. Ha!
How lame is that for an excuse?

Goss: CIA resignation 'one of those mysteries'
Bush expected to tap former NSA chief as replacement
Saturday, May 6, 2006; Posted: 10:47 a.m. EDT (14:47 GMT)

Porter Goss and President Bush announce on Friday that Goss is stepping down as CIA director.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Porter Goss said Saturday that his surprise resignation as CIA director is "just one of those mysteries," offering no other explanation for his sudden departure after almost two years on the job.

Although the ex-congressman declined to comment, intelligence sources have told CNN that Goss' resignation on Friday was triggered by differences with National Intelligence Director John Negroponte over plans to move staff, including analysts from the CIA's counterterrorism center, to other intelligence agencies.

3. Well, it's not like the Director of CIA is important or anything
Not in George W. Bush's administration, at least. Fear not, GOP loyalists. The media will have forgotten all about this by Monday, and no inconvenient questions will linger at all. And anyone who has the bad taste to bring it up will be roundly denounced as either "angry" or a "Bush-hater" or {shudder} "not funny."

9. Gotta love our 'transparent' government
Guys just don't up and quit a high profile and powerful job for no good reason. Something happened and it isn't going to remain a mystery for long.

I'm sure the Dukestir is squealing like a poked pig in hopes of getting his sentence reduced.

into the Kennebunkport mafio. So, campo Negroponte has a hit put on him.

12. No, he WAS one of the boys, he just got careless with hookers
and a bunch of contractors, lobbyists, congressmen, limos, and hotel rooms!!!

This "NEGROPONTE didn't like his JOB PERFORMANCE" business is horseshit. When you have KNOWN someone for FIVE DECADES, you have a good idea of how they perform, what their character is, where their head is at.

Ah, happier days, back at the Yale Fencing Club...Class of 1960. That's Negroponte in the back row, and Porter, sitting next to the Monkey's Uncle, up front:

11. Forgive my utter ignorance, but a question for clarification...........
isn't the National Intelligence Director a newly created title? And if so, wasn't there a degree of skepticism with regards to the wisdom of creating such a title?
