Bush says David Gregory wouldn't pass a Background Check
Yet Jeff Gannon did?

He said it jokingly after Gregory was asking Bush these penetrating questions. He also said he wouldn't hire him. Bush must really hate David Gregory. LOL!

2. Gregory's one of the few White House reporters that tries to do
his job. No wonder Bush hates him.

3. the BEST part about that, which I saw, too, is that there's NO WAY
Edited on Fri Apr-28-06 07:22 PM by Gabi Hayes
Bush could ever pass any kind of security check, and it's most likely the reason they MADE him STOP FLYING when he was protecting us from Mexican marauders

remember??!!!!

4. Gregory embarrassed him by asking a question in French
and of course *² was using interpreters...commented on how gregory was an "internationalist"..

then went on to say how the US was trying to teach the French about entrepreneurship...

he suppposedly said the french don't have a word for entrepreneur

now, THAT's funny, but probably made up by some englishwoman

it's on snopes, I think

I was bummed, to say the least

5. Both MSNBC and CNN positioned this encouter as Bush Shows Sense of
Humor." and showed the clip where Gregory looks like an ass but the Chimpster is back on "Ground Zero" with his Bull Horn with the Firefighters saying: "I HEAR YA!"

It was disgusting how they trashed Gregory and made the Chimp look like a HERO! Too bad he wasn't dressed in his "Flight Suit" with his "codpiece" hitched up to make him look like the biggest Dick in the Universe...

:-(

25. Shocking betrayal by Brokaw in Newsmax
If this is one of the few occasions when Newsmax correctly quotes somebody:

"David and I have actually talked about this," Brokaw told radio host Don Imus on Thursday.

"I would succumb to this from time-to-time," the veteran newsman recalled. "You get into that bubble in the White House press corps and you begin to think that it's between you personally and the press secretary. Or that you're showing off for your colleagues in the room."

But a LOUSY political show host...Hopefully he'll stick to what he does best and not turn into a joke like Anderson Cooper has with 360. Uh!

26. He did suck...but Imus questioned him about his wife and family so I
Edited on Fri Apr-28-06 08:44 PM by KoKo01
figured Gregory got the message..."DON't have your family fly on small planes."

Gregory didn't look himself either. He seemed to have an eye infection in his right eye (like pink eye) on Monday and he held his head down through alot of the week...but "pink eye" or not...he got the message. And, his "grand standing" shout out to Bush this a.m. at the Press Conference which gave the Cables their "talking point" about Bush Humor made me wonder if "THEY" really managed to get to him.

If one has a wife and kids these days...why would you take the chance.

A friend of mine had a run as an financial officer at a Private College over a Garbage Collecting Contract and the Mafia visited him at his office. He had been considering using a different company in the town for garbage collection. He was told..."things can happen to your family" if you don't renew our (mob) contract. My good Dem friend complied. He had four children undr 14 years old. He was working for a private college...and he didn't want the "trouble" implied for the safety of his family.

We sometimes forget what these folks go through these days. But, then the perks if one makes IT are in the MILLIONS...like Tweety's Nantucket home next to former GE, CEO Jack Welch.

It's a matter of compromise...I guess. I don't know if some of us could do it...but when it comes to family safety...I guess we'd all need to think long and hard....:-(

22. Bur and burr are interchangeable. I'm not sure, though...
...which one is the more commonly used variant. It may be bur.

8. Here's what they said.
Edited on Fri Apr-28-06 07:45 PM by ocelot
Bush: There's a lot to do, David, and we'll continue to be results-oriented.

Gregory: But I asked you about your internal changes and what that says about how you think things need to be changed. It's been very public, your internal changes.

Bush: (Peevishly) Well, David, I, I, I'm a results-oriented person, and my job is to achieve things for the American people. Positive results that make us more secure and prosperous, and of course I will have people by my side that will help achieve that objective. Thank you for your penetrating question. Heh, heh. Plus, I'm not going to hire you, if that's what you were suggesting.

Gregory: That's not what I was suggesting.

Bush: I would, except you can't pass the background check. Heh, heh.

I'll add a bit to this --

Then Bush said (maybe because nobody laughed): That was a cheap shot.

But you could tell he was amused by his own "joke."

It would be a career ender, but you know it's on the minds of every reporter who is on the butt end of King Chimp's stupid machismo cutesy namecalling/towel snapping.

Bernard Kerik head of Homeland Security! It is a badge of honor to have a long rap sheet in this administration. He probably meant Gregory is squeaky clean and definitely not Bush Crime Family material.
