1. Not Necessarily, And I Actually Hope He Doesn't
That would be a disaster for the admin. If he gets indicted and refuses to go. LOL! That would be sweet!

15. If he doesn't
The Chimp's approval rating will be in the high teens or low twenties. That would be sweet indeed!

2. He doesn't HAVE to
but since Libby set the precedent - he will.

3. He probably would resign ... and in light of demotion
it'd be easy for him to claim, "I'm leaving the WH but will continue as a political consultant to the RNC for the November midterms." That's probably why they "changed his portfolio" so he could make a more "graceful" (ha!) exit.

4. In that case he would be under enormous pressure to resign.

I'm dying to know what will happen but am deliberately distracting myself so i don't interfere with the karma of the impeachment elves. Well, first the indictment elves. And then later on the impeachment elves.

17. You said, "These men are too slick"
Could we change that to slimy? :D I'm sure they'll slime out of this one, too. BUT, just in case they don't (thanks to that wonderful Fitz) I am stocking up on popcorn.

5. If he doesn't (especially after Scotter resigned) then more bad
publicity for this WH. Also, in even better news--if it's discovered that he's working on GOP campaigns this fall then that would also hurt the Republicans. It's a lose-lose proposition for them.

7. No, but he would "resign" like Karen Hughes "resigned"
Always an e-mail, fax machine or phone call away from Baby Bush, who couldn't wipe his ass without Karl Rove.

23. Front Row Seat just to see Rover: "I am resigning..."(w/a smirk)
but I don't think Rove will ever say those words-it will be understood and bush will
do his tap dance in the Rose Garden about Karl leaving...how much he means to me...bla bla

8. Everything changed after 9/11...
So probably not since the Mob is running the show. Mobs and gangsters tend to simply smirk at the laws, that we all must live by.

13. Why couldn't he do the same job from the outside? Many mob bosses ran
things from their jail cells. I don't think Rove getting indited will change much of anything other than it looks bad for the repukes. The kool aide drinkers will blame it all on the Dems any way.

18. Because being under indictment is just one step above
going to hell.

If Rove gets indicted, he will be too busy defending himself to have time to run anyones campaign.

Rove & Co are done.

Resigning is entirely optional. Cuz committing treason for Jesus is not a crime.

19. In October of 2005
three days before the grand jury was set to run out, the White House announced that both Rove and Libby had decided to resign if indicted. The following day, Mr. Rove's office changed that, and said he was considering the option of an unpaid leave if indicted.

You're the most insightful out of anyone on this site about Plame and the investigation going on now.

26. It should be interesting.
I'm not sure if Mr. Fitzgerald is going to be reviewing more information on others, such as Hadley, before asking the grand jury to consider returning indictments, or if he is going to do Rove now, and the others in order. I had expected that Rove would be notified early next week, and that we would be hearing on May 5 or 12. But this Mr. Fitzgerald may surprise us all!

... and come back working for the WH as a consultant for a while (until at least November of 2006)...

25. I hope not. His machinations are evident to most Americans now.
He's assuring our victory in 06 and 08.

I wouldn't be surprised if the $100 Republican buy-off check is his idea. Everyone to whom I've spoken today has laughed at that idea--that $100 will ease their gas-price-fueled anger.

Let him stay around. He's old news, and Americans see his games.
