Here take your blood money stupid voter.
Is there any issue this Republican senate won't take a bold step an insult the American voter on.

Senate Republicans proposed a $100 rebate check for millions of taxpayers Thursday to counter high gasoline costs, but linked the assistance to drilling in an Alaska wildlife refuge, assuring the measure would face stiff opposition from most Democrats.

1. i am sorry
but that bill is embarrasing, 100$ rebate checks are kinda like spraying a wildfire with a garden hose with gas prices the way they are. if they would up mileage requirements then that might cut our costs some. so what do people think about the E85 cars that GM is putting out, personally i like them.

2. blame the republicans or blame the people unable to see beyond
their greedy paws?

is it too much to ask for the people to use what's between their ears and reach for some rather more intellectual conclussion?

or do we do for the public what the media did for bush and lower, lower, lower the bar for every difficult situation that arises?

3. They are proposing a $100 rebate...
which will be taxable income and will add to our budget deficit, and in return the oil companies get to pillage ANWR. Is there anyone who does not think this is a stupid idea?

7. If the bill fails
The ads start: The republicans tried to pass gas refunds to help the average American... but the Democrats blocked us.

The bill passes: The Republicans give money to people who spend it on gas, way to encourage conservation. The oil companies get Alaska oil AND the 100 bucks. You get poorer.

8. Stupid and insane are a very bad combo as * has demonstrated...
bribing the public is a horrible method to achieve your goals.

I guess this culture of corruption doesn't see it that way.

13. The dems should
tweak that bill some to get the amount up to 4 or 5 hundred $ rebate and then watch the pubs try to kill it.

11. How on earth is $100 going to help?
I am forced to commute 100 miles per day. Other than that, I don't drive. I drive an old Toyota. I put about $70 worth of gas per week in the car, and it's steadily going up. $100 won't even get me to work for two weeks. How stupid can people be?!
