Kerry's Real Security in the Post 9/11 World revisited
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 01:15 PM by ProSense
Ellen Goodman article in the Concord Monitor states the Democrats need:

This time he'd get it right? What the Democrats need this time out is not a messenger honed to squeak on the margin of undecideds, but a vision of what's gone wrong in the country and how to right it. As Michael Tomasky writes in The American Prospect, they need a liberal message of the common good that trumps the conservative message - a view that we are in this globalized, post-industrial, post-9/11 world together and must "pull together, make some sacrifices, and, just sometimes, look beyond our own interests to solve our problems and create the future."

The Senate should pass this bill for comprehensive campaign finance reform

In 1997, Senator Kerry introduced the following bill that he wrote along with Senator Wellstone (it was reintroduced on a couple of other occasions, with various sponsors):

10. Ever hear the left pundits point the fingers at their own failings?
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 03:20 PM by blm
Will it matter that she reads the facts when it is doubtful that she has the capacity to admit the weakness of the left punditry class that rarely bothers to get their FACTS STRAIGHT before they pontificate?

2. Ugh! I'd vote for a bullfrog first. He had his chance and he blew it.
Its someone else's turn now - someone who won before and will win again. Al Gore in 08.

7. Help me out here...cuz I really don't know...
what did Al Gore do between 2000 and 2004 to prevent the voter suppression and other election theft techniques that the bush-bots applied?

(this is being asked by a hearty Gore supporter since 1992...but I really don't know.)

8. I hope Al knows about the voting machines now.
Because the ONLY Dem who CAN win is the one who works with the DNC to expose the machines and secure them before the election.

5. You think anyone in the media is going to point the finger at THEMSELVES
for allowing the Republican spin machine to rule the daily news cycle? They won't admit that they FAILED to effectively counter the lies of the Republican media machine with the TRUTH and had their asses handed to them by the GOP pundits on a daily basis.

Left pundits and spokepeople can't tell the truth or recite facts as effectively as the GOP machine can lie and hold near total control of the messages broadcast on an EVER DAY BASIS.

The RW media machine was Bush's front line of defense. How did the left pundits do in that daily matchup?

6. Ellen Goodman is an idiot.
She repeated so many right wing talking points and stupid generalizations in that column it is amazing. Someone told me she used to be a liberal? Must've been some strong kool-aid.

9. The RW talking points were RARELY countered by the weak left punditry
class. Don't expect them to remember their failings during the campaign. It's easier for them to point fingers at the one guy who WON His matchups during the campaign. And they use RIGHTWING talking points to do it.

11. I think
people's agendas are getting the best of them. They can support any candidate they want without tearing down others.
