Wow! Scarborough really laying into Bush
His two closes friends look like criminals: Karl Rove in court on one coast; Ken Lay in court in another.

And he has yet to see the lowest point in his presidency.

Harriet Myers.

Lying to get into Iraq.

Dubai ports.

Immigration.

Ethics, or lack of ethics.

14 points lower in the polls than Bill Clinton on eve of impeachment.

Constantly siding with the evangelicals.

And on and on.......

17. Maybe THAT'S the answer:
KO's got the highest ratings - in general - on MSNBC, so Squint's realized that, to draw in viewers, it's easier to pop it to Bush so people watch than to spread out all the conservative viewing audience so thinnly because there are so many conservative pundits.

14. I think Joe has decided to take the KO path to success
namely, criticize *. Which means, he has to pretend he never liked him. Or maybe did once, but doesn't now.

Maybe they told him an audience of disenchanted Republicans was there and ripe for the picking. That maybe his audience wasn't as liberal as KO's, but that they were ready to hear some criticism finally.

Sounds like the type of talk that Newt has been engaging in lately. Perhaps he has thrown his support to a Newt '08 campaign?

And I watched it tonight, I would think he is a frothing-at-the-mouth liberal.

I've only seen him get pissed about two things:

1) Katrina

2) Oil prices

26. He's got to keep the liberal Olbermann groupies on board
If he started in with the GOP talking points half his audience would scatter to the four winds.

I found it quite remarkable. I rather liked the Joe Scarborough/Barbara Boxer lovefest. Then Mike Papantonio was on for a bit.

OK it worked It kept me watching for a while.

Move Rita out, change Scarborogh to a liberal, and slide him next to Keith.

OK, I don't believe it either. But I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

32. Republicans running away from Bush
Pretty obvious really. They won't have any credibility to push the 2006 candidates unless they're willing to criticize Georgie. All politics, not surprising.

33. If he loses Scarborough Country he may try acting next
I will happily tune in to watch the new Joe, but he won't have any credibility left if he tries to immitate Chris Matthews' bipolar broadcast style. I remember Chris' panel of Fineman, Buchanan, Reagan, and Scarborough, on election eve (when the exit polls showed Bush would lose.) Scarborough was dissing Bush, the White House, the Repub leadership with such passion that Buchanan and Fineman were looking at Joe -- literally with their jaws dropping and eyes popping -- it was hilarious. After the election, he was back on his talking points. The Katrina disaster doesn't count because the only one I can remember supporting Bush in those days was MS Governor Barbour.

35. 14 pts lower than Clinton at impeachment?
If I rremember right, Clinton was close to 70% approval at the time of his "impeachment". And Bush is around 30%. Thats a 40 pt spread, not 14.

36. Poll: Clinton's approval rating up in wake of impeachment
(AllPolitics, December 20, 1998) -- In the wake of the House of Representatives' approval of two articles of impeachment, Bill Clinton's approval rating has jumped 10 points to 73 percent, the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows.

That's not only an all-time high for Clinton, it also beats the highest approval rating President Ronald Reagan ever had.
