Looking for 1 night lodging in Shreveport January 12 or 13.
I'm driving down to Biloxi from Denver. It's a three-day drive, one night in Texas, and then I think one night around Shreveport. Anyone live around there? Have contacts or family around there? Any couch or living room floor will do--I'll have my sleeping bag and I'm not proud. :)

PM me if you know any leads. I'm really nice and can provide references from sane, reputable people if that would make anyone feel better about allowing me into their homes.

1. I saw your post in the TX forum but I live in Houston.
Good luck though; you are a lovely, selfless person! :toast:

2. This is a mutally beneficial trip.
I am earning credit on a Masters of Arts in pastoral care for this experience. And it's selfish because I've always wanted to do trauma ministry. I just hope I can give wise counsel to the survivors. :(

3. You can give wise counsel; your heart is
huge! I remember you, intheflow, because I had a major fight with my husband when you were looking for a place to crash after Katrina; you wanted to/did volunteer at the Astrodome, right?
I wanted to invite you here, but my husband nixed the idea because you're a 'stranger':-( , though I knew you wouldn't have been.
Anyway, I embarrassed him into making a hefty donation.
Just thought I'd share, and you will be a welcome addition to the ongoing healing that must continue.

4. Thank you, Sistah Babylon!
You don't know how much I needed to hear that tonght.

I'm sorry I caused a fight with your husband back then, though. :( I didn't actually work in the Astrodome. I spent a few days at Red Cross headquarters, one day at St. Agnes writing checks, and a day driving donations from a church to a various distribution centers.

As it turned out, I also found totally upscale lodging with a retired minister in River Oaks. :wow:
