I was going to, honest, but with the hurricane going on it slipped my mind. Some background...
I'm a BBW model. Another BBW model, who is my best friend, sent me that link. Even in BBW modeling there is SOME retouching of photos, but not to this degree!
What I found most interesting is while most had their breasts (and in some cases, their asses) enhanced, nearly every photo ALSO thinned out waists and stomachs. If you move your mouse back and forth over some of the photos, they look like their breathing.
Another thing I noticed, is that 'perfect, flawless hair' and 'smooth complexion' of models -- don't exist. It's all retouched. Some of those models had huge, dark circles under their eyes, and their hair not that shiny or smooth. also, a LOT of them had to have their faces and collarbones filled in with some flesh so they didn't look like skeletons.
As a model myself, I was interested in the techniques used (I mean, I would LOVE to get rid of my genetic dark circles beneath my eyes in photos without a TON of makeup!), but was really sickened at the amount of body sculpting done to these women. Also, the Dove 'real women' ads had JUST as much retouching done as these photos. Talk about hypocrisy.
One more thing I noticed -- even thin, beautiful women have cellulite. So women, don't be ashamed of having REAL bodies and REAL faces! Forget the media, selling totally fake beauty.
