NASCAR Formula One Boss--sexist comments to a woman of skill:

Associated Press
Posted: 11 hours ago

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indy Racing League driver Danica Patrick is upset at Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone and confused by his comments likening women to "domestic appliances."

Patrick received a telephone call from Ecclestone last week during which he congratulated the IRL rookie for her performance at the Indianapolis 500, but also reiterated remarks he had made during an interview at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the United States Grand Prix was being held.

Among the comments Ecclestone made in the interview and to Patrick was that "women should be all dressed in white like all other domestic appliances."

Well, at least AP reported it---that means it causes concern. That's better than it being ignored.

I gotta hand it to her, I would have been alot less calm.

But she did have the REAL right attitude:

"(it) doesn't really matter because I'm racing in the Indy Racing League."
;)

1. Can you imagine the outrage if a similar comment were aimed

at a driver who was Muslim, Jewish, African American, or a member of any other group that experiences systemic discrimination?

Poor widdle boy, he's afraid his manhood will shrivel when she beats him in the Indy. AWWWW.

Personally, I want to know if he's going to be dressing in brown from now on, like all the rest of the sewage.

And you're right, the outcry would be a hell of a lot more if he made some remark about an African-American driver dressing like a field hand or something equally racist. However, I do have to say, I am hearing a fair amount about this, and everyone is making fun of Neanderthal-Boy.

I guess he wanted HIS 15 minutes of fame, even if it's infamy.

4. Wait a minute...isn't he the head of Nascar, not a driver?
I don't know a thing about NASCAR, but I assumed this guy was in the top position of power like the Baseball or Football commissioner. By the looks of his picture, he sure as hell ain't no driver.

But yes, after the race I recall seeing where a few drivers were complaining that she won it unfairly because she weighed so little. BWAHAHAHAH. Tell me tough guys, when the men's team at Duke was winning all the college basketball championships for years and their lead player was VERY SHORT.... did you hear him whining about how unfair it was his opponents were more often than not a foot taller than him?

I'm proud of her for coming in 4th and she must have been putting up with all kinds of shit for years, but... I wish she would have come out stronger saying "This is sexism from the Boss." I know she was trying to be gracious and diplomatic by saying she was perplexed by his statement. But this is part of the problem.

Too many women try to cover for these Female Haters. There is no way to interpret his words, except that he is a Female Hater.

6. not NASCAR, Formula 1
I don't know what the difference is between Indy Racing Leadue and Formula, except they're different. The cars are similar though. NASCAR cars are Taurus', Monte Carlos etc.

And yes, he is the equivalent of a baseball or football commissioner.

And yes, obviously, he is a sexist jerk.

the cars (Indy cars are very low with big tires that stick out on the sides) and where they race. Indy cars race around ovals. I thought Formula One cars were driven through winding paths through cities or countryside.

in regard to the tracks/streets. I think Indy and Formula 1 cars are similar though, they're both open wheel cars that barely sit off the ground.

Google says this is an IRL car (cars actually):

and this is a Formula 1 car:

they look similar to me.

sometimes it works to let an asshole prove his assholery, but sometimes you really need to say "See? This guy's an asshole"

5. here is a repost of my reply in GD
Just because this asshole Ecclestone

has an IQ of a domestic appliance himself doesn't mean he gets to project his sexist belligerent vile views of women on the public.

He is a piece of shit, plain and simple.

I want a public apology NOW.

10. He's got a little dick to go along with his big mouth.
You can always tell that type. He's covering for a scared five year old who just figured out that all the girls in kindergarten are a lot smarter than he is, and that it's going to stay that way his whole life.

Consider the source and move on.
