I screwed up today.
I had some breakfast but then I put off eating until late in the afternoon in an effort to save points. By then, I was so hungry that I wanted to eat everything in sight! I didn't exactly do that but I did eat more than I should.

Note to self: Don't go too long between meals and snacks!

6. Thanks, Auntie!
I hope you were feeling better soon -- well, maybe not too soon as I'm sure the memory of how bad you felt will be a good deterrent in the future -- at least, for a little while. (If the memory of pain and sickness were great deterrents, none of us would ever get pregnant or drunk a second time. ;) )

5. Thanks for the encouragement!
That's exactly how I feel. And I think that's what I like about WW Online -- each day and especially each week truly is a "clean slate." :hi:

3. Good lesson!
I went and weighed in today even though I didn't want to. I was sick last week, home in bed, watching movies and sleeping, didn't exercise, didn't keep track of what I was eating, didn't drink the requisite amount of water, and basically screwed up royally for four out of the seven days.

Turns out I lost 3 pounds.

It would appear that as long as you are behaving overall there's a metabolic grace period. And you didn't eat everything in sight, so obviously you have some discipline! I'm hiding in the home office with the computer because I'm scared of the pizza in the dining room. :scared:

4. You're right.
How much of a binge can it be when it involved Reduced-Fat Triscuits, 2% cheese, and two small pieces of a fairly low-carb pizza? It certainly doesn't hold a candle to what I've binged on in the past!

Thanks! :hi:

7. I screwed up on Saturday-- but part of it was anticipated....
Edited on Sun Feb-19-06 01:13 PM by mike_c
I had a house-warming party to go to last night, so knew I'd be drinking some wine or beer at the party, probably eating dessert with dinner, and so on, so while I was out running errands in the afternoon I succumbed to the call of a latte and a triple-chocolate brownie at Borders books. Now it's back to the diet today! I'm down a couple more pounds at my weekly weigh-in this morning-- nearly 10 lbs in three weeks-- so I don't feel too guilty. What I do feel is regret that I drank the wine-- four glasses of wine over six hours or so and I still feel a bit yucky after a good night's sleep. Ugh.

11. I have often wondered why I can never remember BEFORE I drink the wine
how I will feel AFTER if I have too much.

Wine was part of my overindulgence, too. Glad to know I'm not alone. :)

8. I've noticed if I go too long
between meals and snacks I get lightheaded.

I've learned that in order to make WW work for me I need to snack on something every two-three hours.

12. I usually do exactly that
but I was trying to hoard points for the evening. Next time I'll remember that I'll use fewer points in the long run if I don't let myself get too hungry! :hi:

14. I just snack on fruit or veggies.
They fill me up quicker. And I save my milk for my snacks-another way to fill up faster.

9. A stumble now and then
is not a bad thing! My WW instructor, tells us if we have a craving, to give in a little. It is better to satisfy the craving with a small portion, then to put it off, and then have a HUGE binge.

That being said...I did have a huge binge this weekend. We had to put a horse down on Friday, so I felt no shame in having a "few" warm donuts on the way home. Saturday morning, I got up, tracked what I had eaten, and moved on. Don't let one bad meal or day, sabotage all the good you are doing!

10. That's exactly what I did.
I logged everything I ate and found out I went in the hole about 16 weekly points. But a new week started yesterday and I'm right on track again. I've decided to weigh again on March 1 and then weigh monthly so I probably won't know what the actual effect of this weekend's eating was.

Thanks! :hi:

13. I weigh in
every Friday. I chose Fridays so that I could recover from any weekend mishaps! ;)
