I'm about 3/4 of the way through it right now and I'm wondering if anyone else has read it and what they think of it.

1. I took a look at the preview
http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0618219072/ref=sib_dp_pt/102-2653464-2482513#reader-link

and have a few comments/concerns.

The author feels the noun 'alcoholic' is outdated and pejorative.
I disagree.

She shows the definition of 'abstinence' to mean 'using sparingly'.
When it comes to alcohol, that doesn't work for me.

If this book offers help to those unable to find it elsewhere, more power to them.

I have no aversion to the name 'alcoholic', the organization AA and the 12 steps.

That's what works for me.

:hi:
